WordOfGod is that Hasbro insisted that the episodes be written to be viewed in any order, meaning [[NegativeContinuity no story arcs]]. But quite a few other shows started out with this mentality only to start introducing overarching plots in later seasons once it gained enough popularity and got the ball rolling. Given the wide PeripheryDemographic, this show has gained ''plenty'' of popularity to say the least.

He will meet other young dragons and hang out with them. Twilight will be supportive, since she knows he'll be happy having someone like himself to hang out with. Maybe she will even be the one who introduced them in the first place. But these new friends are jerks, they pressure Spike into doing things he doesn't want to do, and try to keep him from his pony friends by telling him that ponies are lame. The Mane Cast is concerned and tries to figure out what to do. Eventually he stands up to them when they take things too far and when he realizes who really cares about him, and the lesson is that true friends aren't always the ones who look and act like you.
* Would this work better with or without one of the dragons pulling a HeelFaceTurn against the others after Spike stands up to them and becoming a semi-reoccurring character? As long as it's written well enough, of course, possibly with some subtle {{Foreshadowing}} along the way.

** Seems to have been confirmed -- if it's indeed the same book, Star Swirl wrote it and it contains the unfinished spell that caused all the trouble in the season finale.

* Should the above "Twilight alicorn" WMG not happen, it'll most likely involve Discord making a BigEntrance in Ponyville in the beginning and, after some resistance from the Mane 6, Spike, Shining Armor, and Cadance, similar to the WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague two-parter "Hereafter", [[spoiler: seemingly kills Twilight (but in reality transporting her to another, weird dimension), with all of Ponyville mourning her "death" as well as Celestia and/or Luna and Shining Armor giving her eulogy]].

Twilight will be the same old Twilight. The episodes will still be SliceOfLife episodes taking place in Ponyville. The other members of the Mane Six will get as much exposure and screentime as they do now. Twilight will still live in the library. There will be episodes focusing on [[spoiler: the challenges and trials that come with being a powerful princess, but that's it]].

In the episode "It's About Time", it's briefly mentioned that there is a realm called Tartarus that is full of monsters and spirits that could pretty much destroy Equestria. In Greek myth, Tartarus is a place of suffering and horror where souls are punished. It would be weird if they introduce what is basically ''Hell'' and then never bring it up again. So in future episodes, more details about Tartarus will be given and there will even be new villains and threats that come out of it. Discord might be called on to help, maybe some of the monsters will even be a match for him. Fluttershy may have to call on Cerberus, since the dog must be pretty powerful if it's assigned to guard the place. Some of the characters may even have to go inside Tartarus, and it will be full of [[MindScrew mind screws]] and NightmareFuel.
** Confirmed. [[spoiler: Tirak]] escaped from Tartarus. Discord does get called in, he is defeated. How much NightmareFuel is there is a matter of opnion but he does suck the life out of ponies, locks some people in Hell and would have won if not for the perfect storm. He doesn't lose by clutching the VillainBall; he loses to low tier DeusExMachina.

[[WMG: Season 4 and beyond will show more locations outside of Ponyville.]]
With Twilight becoming a princess and taking the next level in her magic studies, she's gonna have a lot more to do. That could mean going to other places to explore and learn, as well as perform royal duties. This would give the writers a chance to feature the many locations that are mentioned but never shown.
** Confirmed. And Equestria is a scarier place in reality than we've been lead to believe. There is a swamp with fire pits and chimera! Everfree forest where there are wild animals. ROFL.

Star Swirl the Bearded.

From them eating some kind of [[GRatedSex fertility berry]] to make it more kid-friendly. It will probably have a ShoutOut to {{Juno}}, where each of them are trying to find a home for their soon-to-be born fillies. Each of them will also have their own problems with the pregnancy as well.

* Nightmare Moon Timeline: The “Pony of Shadows” emerges from ….well… the shadows...and releases the Power of Darkness to turn everpony into demonic creatures and by under his/her command through a mind control crown. The villain then uses his/her god-like power to move the moon in front of the sun, creating a solar eclipse as well as eternal darkness. Princess Luna sensing a disturbance, teleports into the Canterlot to find what is coming, only to discover the POS is behind it all. After an intense battle, the POS reveals he/hrt was the one who [[MindRape mentally manipulated]] Luna into becoming Nightmare Moon in order for her to kill Celestia, extinguish the sun, and bring forth Eternal Night, in order to wipe all non-nocturnal life so he/her [[FinalFantasyIV Lunarian kind could rule Equestria]] in a state of darkness.

* Or there could be a shout-out to RevengeOfTheSith as Rainbow Dash has to fight Gilda.

It'll be framed by a conversation between Celestia and Luna on the anniversery of that fateful night; said conversation will provide an in-depth look at what both sisters went through and will end in a CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming. As for the battle itself, it might have some similarities to Thor and Loki's final battle in ''Film/{{Thor}}'' or Obi-Wan and Anakin's duel in ''StarWars: RevengeOfTheSith''.

* There is a ''Fanfic/StoryOfTheBlanks'' reference (actually mentioning Apple Bloom's ordeal).

* ''Related Related Related Theory'': Star Swirl is the Equestria's version of [[spoiler: [[TransformersDarkOfTheMoon Sentinel Prime]]]]. He was regarded as a great pony during his time and was even Celestia's mentor. When he makes his comeback, he is seemingly friendly at first, but he secretly struck a deal with Queen Chrysalis to take over Equestria. While Chrysalis is merely in it ForTheEvulz, Star Swirl the Bearded is a WellIntentionedExtremist who merely wants to return Equestria to its "former glory," and is using Chrysalis as a pawn to fulfill his plans. Like [[spoiler: Sentinel Prime]], he'll also have an AGodAmI moment.

Sweetie Belle will be the contestant with the assistance of her friends and Rarity, while Tiara will be her rival. Also the pageant will be less {{Squick}}y than actual child pageants (see ''LittleMissSunshine''). If there is a talent portion, it could very well be the episode in which S.B. gets over her stage fright and gets her cutie mark showing her talent as a singer.

Okay, we know the toyline is releasing a new "Crystal Empire" set, and the leaked [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LkJ3_nVq8s Crystal Fair Song]] confirms it'll play a part in the show...except Twilight refers to a "Crystal ''Kingdom'' anthem". Either this was just a slip up, or there's more to it than that: both terms are correct. That is, the place will be called the 'Crystal Kingdom' at first, until some TyrantTakesTheHelm (whether an old villain or a new one) and turns it into the 'Crystal Empire.' Remember: [[TheGrandListOfConsoleRPGCliches kingdoms are good, empires are evil.]]

* Applejack and her family, also become TV celebrities on a DuckDynasty type show

* Fanfic/{{RocketToInsanity}} maybe it would be a nightmare she will have, [[Main/{{SanitySlippage}} which would cuase her to go nuts like their.]] [[FanFic/{{RocketToInsanityAlternateEnding}} but would be more like the alternate version.]]

The actual plot... hmm... perhaps a minotaur actor who's sick of being typecast in villain/meatheaded action hero roles, and needs our heroines' help to realize that he ''can'' do more nuanced, cultured roles.

Before Luna reformed her Phoenix and student Twilight were the only people close to her and even then it was a teacher/student bond. Maybe even give rise to a new threat like the eleents of discord theories or the smooze theories.
