[[WMG: The Boneless envy the third dimension, [[IJustWantToBeFree and desire freedom]]. ]]
Originally they were unaware a third dimension existed, until something tipped them off that a higher dimension exists. Being two-dimensional, they felt trapped and sought the freedom that depth would give them. The cruelty they show isn't ForTheEvulz, it's because they are jealous of 3-D beings and want to let off steam. After killing a bunch of people, they'd calm down and focus on living their new lives in this new dimension. It's possible they wanted the TARDIS to access the fourth dimension of time.

The TARDIS' siege mode looked a whole lot like a miniature Pandorica? It must have been Time Lord tech that the Silence was able to get their hands on... maybe even a repurposed TARDIS that somehow survived the Time War, now that we know that the Time Lords weren't annihilated (and since other [=TARDISes=] survived in "corpse" form in The House's alternate dimension, it's not a far stretch). Let's not sell short the technological capacities of the race who juggled entire planets, stuffed them inside a rip in the fabric of reality, and meant to use them to wipe out rest of the omniverse.

This is not a forum. There is natter here, there is no proper guess, it\'s just labeless speculation between two people.

* Was it just me, or did the TARDIS' siege mode look a whole lot like a miniature Pandorica? I wonder if The Pandorica may have been Time Lord tech that somehow the Silence was able to get their hands on... maybe even a repurposed TARDIS that somehow survived the Time War, now that we know that the Time Lords weren't annihilated (and since other [=TARDISes=]... [=TARDeses=]? [=TARDi=]? survived in "corpse" form in The House's alternate dimension, it's not a far stretch).
** It did yeah. About the origin of the Pandorica, let's not sell short the technological capacities of the race who juggled entire planets, stuffed them inside a rip in the fabric of reality, and meant to use them to wipe out rest of the omniverse. About the pluralization, since it's an acronym, it ought not to be pluralized for the same reason that ATM and BFF are both singular and plural forms (the M stands for Machine or Machines, depending on context). The show consistently goes with [=TARDISes=] (perhaps for Time and Relative Dimensions In Space...es?), though, or Timeships.
