We all know that Calvin hates the food at his school's cafeteria, and Calvin has tried to obtain explosives so many times, it must have happened once. Think about it; nobody could prove that he did it if he set the explosives on a timer, and it is bad enough to invoke the wrath of Santa and for him to be scared of his teacher telling his parents about it. His teacher would tell his mom about it because of Calvin's bad reputation, but she would still not be able to prove Calvin did it.

* More like MasterOfIllusion, only that he can currently do the stuff only on himself, and he doesn't even realize he can do that. Once he grows up a bit, he'll understand the power he holds, learn to affect other people with his illusions, realize that Hobbes is only the projection of his imagination (this'll be hard for him,) and possibly make an alignment shift from Main/ChaoticNeutral to Main/ChaoticGood and start to [[TheyFightCrime fight crime]].
** Without Hobbes? Main/ChaoticEvil. On the other hand, Hobbes may be an advanced alien, sent to keep Calvin from growing powerful enough to destroy the universe. Calvin would do it, too.

* Of the two siblings, it's possible that Uncle Max was the one more similar to Calvin: one strip ends with him commenting "Sometimes I think ALL my friends have been imaginary." It can mean that all Max' friends weren't honest with him, but we can also think that Max, as a kid, grown up too much isolated from his peers. Practically, he doesn't want his nephew to walk in the same unpleasant experience.

Specifically, he's an albino, which is why he doesn't have black hair and grey skin. He does, however, have spiky hair, which seems to be a common troll trait. Calvin was born with his abnormal colouration, which was declared to be an adverse trait and he was selected for culling, but he somehow managed to escape with his Lusus, Hobbes, although his horns were broken off in the process. They ended up on a spaceship that travelled through a wormhole, bringing him to a planet in another dimension in the future -- Earth. There, as he resembled an ordinary human child, he was adopted by a human family. Calvin must be a redblood to explain why he never gave anything away when he got hurt, and thus was born with redblood psychic powers, manifesting in him unconsciously creating illusions to make his Lusus look like a stuffed animal to everyone else. His FoeYay with Susie is his interpretation of kismesis ship -- since he was raised by a species without that concept, he doesn't know the details, but his inborn psychology sees hate as a type of romance. Spaceman Spiff is his recollections of being a citizen of an intergalactic empire, and he sees monsters under his bed because he doesn't have a recuperacoon to prevent the nightmares that naturally affect his species. The top evidence here is that in one strip, Calvin, at Hobbes's suggestion, asks his mom if he was ever a grub. What Hobbes knows and his mother doesn't is that he actually ''was''.

Sometime after the last strip, Calvin and his family move to Japan. His father then has to leave for some unknown reason and that leaves Calvin growing up with his mother in Tokyo. He begins to get interested in Track and Field. When he gets into his second year of High school, he meets a transfer student with a supposed criminal record, though the kid denies it. On that same day, while walking to school with the transfer, he walks into a weird castle and gets attacked by monsters with the other kid. He then sees a weird version of his gym teacher in underwear and a cape who tries to kill him. Suddenly, the transfer kid activates his protagonist powers and they escape from the cell they are being trapped in. They meet a weird cat like thing and manage to get out. The next day they learn that their PE teacher is an even bigger jerk then they could ever imagine. They team up with the cat but not a cat and a girl in their class who was being manipulated by the PE teacher to get him to cut it out. Then they go on a bunch of other adventures to stop bad adults and get a cool team of misfits like any other standard anime. Then, when escaping a ship that's exploding, he almost gets blown up. He and the cat also hate each other. Then they fight NOTAGODBUTKINDA, and save the world or something. And he gets therapy?

Hobbes is a monster that escaped and is chilling with Calvin. Or if its more like Deltarune, Hobbes is created the same way as the dream world that Kris created. They aren't in a timeline where everyone is out, or maybe everyone forgot the monsters, or Hobbes is the only one left. Calvin could have the soul trait of imagination or something. That could be how he has such impressive dreamscapes.

The player/challenger has to continue to deny Hobbeses existence as anything more than a stuffed toy. Also, Susie is the witch/Gamemaster.

Instead, he reconciles with him and becomes his [[Franchise/{{ShinMegamiTenseiPersona}} Persona]], and he will reawaken once Calvin hits highschool and strange shit start happening.

Most real life furs don't start out in the fandom as furverts (and, in fact, got their "furry interest" from mundane things like a stuffed animal collection or FunnyAnimal children's cartoons, hence why a lot of furry FanArt and FanFic are about shows like ''WesternAnimation/SWATKats'' or ''WesternAnimation/SonicSatAM'',) and Calvin's experiences perfectly illustrate the initial "transition phase" furs engage in, when they discover the fandom (plus, he's still too young to lean toward furversion, though there's no guarantee that he won't become one, as he grows older.) Most likely, he's at that transition phase, only just discovering his place in the fandom and exploring it, but still unsure if it's the right thing for him. Hobbes, by extension, was his "gateway drug," going from imaginary friend to conduit of his furry interest and expression.

An AccidentalKiss via spaghetti (noodles) a la ''Disney/LadyAndTheTramp''. The recipient? [[ToyShip Susie Derkins]]. ThatDidntHappen, obviously. Or, if that's too squicky, she dropped her lunch and he shared his noodles with her... Point being, it wasn't a prank. Calvin would be ''proud'' of that.
