* AnimalWrongsGroup: Downplayed with Free Tem! Organization, a group that aims to liberate all Temtem, and sets challenges to release a set number of Temtem of a particular species each week. While their hearts are in the right place, and they're not violent, it seems to elude them that to release that many, you have to catch them first. The player thinks negatively of them while delivering food parcels: "It was this or volunteering for Free Tem!". However, some of their supporters avert this, such as Tihani, who isn't against taming but thinks many tamers catch more Temtem than they can care for.

* NintendoHard: The Dojo Masters are said to be the strongest tamers of their respective island. The initial fight against each of them in the story is already quite challenging, but the rematches push it even further, making use of the competitive-styled pick & ban format.

** Tucma is a DeathWorld loosely based on Andean Argentina (specifically the mining comunities; Quechua is also abundantly used, and the architecture resembles Incan works), but the names of its citizens and locations are based on Myth/AztecMythology. Its cenote is home to Shuine, a FeatheredSerpent who seems to be revered, since the guards wear uniforms based on it.
