* CoolBoard: Marty is exclusively on his hoverboard for the majority of the game, which functions both as a jump attack and a well-timed shielding move. Hoverboards also double as extra lives.

Following the plot of the movie, You take control of Marty [=McFly=] on his hoverboard as he quests through time to stop Biff, who has taken over Hill Valley in 1985 due to his future self stealing the Delorean and giving his 1955 self the 2015 Sports Almanac.

Marty platforms and has standard controls. He can move and jump on top of enemies, and there are various powerups he can obtain by breaking vending machines. Like a shield that protects him from a hit, extra hoverboards (hit points), and lives.

In a sea of questionable ''Back To The Future'' games of its era, ''Super Back To The Future II'' stands out for its solid gameplay and very good rendition of the [=BttF=] theme, which translated very well to 16-Bit hardware. Disappointingly, the game was unfortunately only [[NoExportForYou released in Japan]], but it has since been translated.
