* ArbitrarySkepticism: Elco really couldn't believe that supernatural powers were at play, even as he received Tetsu's blessing.

* EscortMission: Elco must go solo and escort Tilly, his wife, back to her home. While she is not immortal, she has much more HP than Elco and can actually take quite the beating, despite not being able to fight back.

** EvilCostumeSwitch: Inverted. Comparing Alexine to (initial) costume, the "evil" one is more conservative.

* FusionDance: Done prior to the final battle, with every one of the heroes merging with their . Then done again as everyone merges to become Tal.

** A straighter example will be , accompanying Elco back to Akloria. He has maxed out stats, but cannot be controlled directly.

* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: wanted to summon the demon Heigou to make her immortal, allowing her to rule forever.

* HappilyMarried: Elco and Tilly.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Elco when discovering that his invention, , is the one responsible for draining the light from the Shadow Realm.

* Stripperiffic: The playable female cast. Interestingly, Ailish's more advanced armors progressively covers her up even though she's the StaffChick of the party. Buki on the other hand, is the opposite.
* TheHighQueen: Ailish's mother.
* TitleDrop: The world that once contained Illumina and Akloria were once one and the same, called Sudeki.

* SexSells: With advert slogans such as "Prepare for a full-frontal assault", it is really hard to speak in favor for this game without incurring weird stares.
** SexyPackaging: Played straight with the US and EU cover, and interestingly averted with the Japanese cover.

* DarkIsNotEvil: The inhabitants, especially the .

** The not-Angel Tetsu is renamed Odin.

* EvilCounterpart: Subverted, the are not evil, and they simply seek to restore the light that has gone missing in Shadow Realm.

* LinearWarriorsQuadraticWizards: Subverted. Ranged characters like Ailish and Elco can be nigh on GameBreaker useful since they can use FirstPersonShooter tactics to circle strafe enemies to death, thus allowing them to OneManArmy everything on the battlefield while avoiding damage as long as they keep moving. Melee fightrs, while they get to deal far more damage, they have very few means of consistently avoiding getting dogpiled by enemies.

* ChasteHero: Tal, especially in response to Ailish, who he gets very nervous around when she gets flirty. He also seems to be nervous when women get inside his personal space in general, as best demonstrated at the beginning of the game when Buki gets a little close for comfort.

* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Ailish is not content to sit on her ass all day and stay out of trouble. At all.

to:

* RedHeadedHero: Tal.WellDoneSonGuy: Tal, at the very least, would greatly enjoy not having General Arlo (his father) treat him like a screwup every five minutes, especially towards the beginning of the game where the plot screws him over independent of his actions.

* DRM: The PC version has Starforce, which made installing it difficult even on computers it was officially designed for, and due to how ancient the version of Starforce was included, it would make running the game on 64-bit operating systems nigh impossible. However, it was discovered that with the DRM removed, the game installs and runs rather well.
