Taking place in an AlternateTimeline version of the events leading up to ''Literature/TheLordOfTheRings'', the game continues to follow the fallen {{Ranger}} Talion (Creator/TroyBaker) and the wraith who once forged the [[ArtifactOfDoom One Ring]], Celebrimbor (Creator/AlastairDuncan), as the duo attempt to forge their own Ring of Power and put an end to [[BigBad Sauron]]'s coming invasion of Middle-earth.
