Madeline and Genevieve are going to a girl's summer camp that is run by Madame Boularke's. At the train station, Madeline noticed a lamp underneath the stairs and discovered a genie in it. Despite being startled, they became fast friends afterwards, though it didn't last as a shadowy figure swipes the lamp from Madeline, and ran into the train. Even though the thief ran off, a map fell out of his pockets and Madeline discovers where he's heading off too. Unfortunately, the map was frail and broke into pieces, and the train blew them all over Paris. So Madeline decides to skip the camp for next year, and focuses on finding her new friend.
