Added example(s) - Oddball In The Series

* OddballInTheSeries: This is the only full-length game in the series that has no mystery elements, no cast of consistently recurring characters, no central location, and no female protagonists. It's also the only '"main" ''[=LiS=]'' game (i.e. other than the [[VideoGame/LifeIsStrangeBeforeTheStorm prequel]] and [[VideoGame/TheAwesomeAdventuresOfCaptainSpirit side-stories]]) where the playable character isn't the one with the powers. Furthermore, the powers shown are also considerably less mystical in comparison to Max's or Alex's, with Daniel having more tangible and destructive capabilities.

* AdultsAreUseless: PlayedWith. All of the positively portrayed adults that Sean and Daniel encounter are helpful in their journey to Mexico, as well as their overall survival. However, from a realistic stand point, their handling of a naive teenaged boy trying to escape the law with his 9-year old brother in tow is extremely irresponsible, and only serves to help the two not only get into more trouble, but also lands them in life-threatening situations that could have been avoided had they turned them into the police sooner. Even his grandparents show that they are aware of how housing Sean is wrong and pointedly question what he plans to do, but they understandably care about them too much to turn them away.
* AllForNothing: [[spoiler: The entire traumatizing journey to Mexico can be rendered moot by the player if they choose to have Sean turn himself and Daniel in to the police at the border in the final episode. Daniel will call Sean out on this in the Lone Wolf ending]].

* BittersweetEnding: Redemption, Parting Ways, and Blood Brothers all have good and bad moments. [[spoiler:Redemption has Sean spend 15 years in jail but Daniel gains a normal life again and when Sean's term is up, is now a free man reunited with his brother, mother, and possibly Lyla and has a career as a comic book artist. Parting Ways has Sean and Daniel separating and Daniel is under surveillance from the government but both are happy with their new lives and still keep in contact via letters as well as Karen reconcile with her parents. Blood Brothers have Sean and Daniel successfully integrate into Mexican society and became closer but now face criminals every day and it is implied that the Diaz brothers perform criminal acts themselves despite Sean running an auto shop.]]

* BittersweetEnding: Most of the endings are bittersweet, which is justified given that there was few ways that there would be a realistically positive outcome for the pair. Redemption, Parting Ways, and Blood Brothers all have good and bad moments. Added DiffLines:

* TooDumbToLive: Sean was given numerous chances throughout the game to turn himself into the police and avoid going to jail due to being underage, but dodged them all with excuses for why he can't every time, which only resulted in him getting into more trouble and wracking up more crimes until jail was unavoidable. [[spoiler: Depending on how the player rears Daniel, his choices can also end up getting him killed]].

* BigBad: [[TheBadGuysAreCops The police as a whole]] are the main antagonistic force throughout the five episodes, pursuing [[PlayerCharacter Sean]] and Daniel Diaz to arrest them for Daniel's AccidentalMurder of an inexperienced cop (which happened when the cop shot their dad). The Diaz brothers' goal is to flee them by going to Puerto Lobos in Mexico. Aside from said jumpy cop in the first episode, though, the game doesn't go to any great lengths to demonize police officers, merely showing them as the opposing force to Sean and Daniel's journey.

Compounding this is Daniel's mysterious telekinesis, which manifested during the shooting to blast the officer (and his car) away -- a power he seems unaware of and unable to harness. Compounding ''that'' is Daniel's lack of recollection of the whole event, and Sean's unwillingness to let his brother kno"w that their father is dead and they're on the run from the police. Sean is still a kid himself in many ways and is now the only caretaker that Daniel has. Life on the road is far from easy, and the choices that Sean makes as he and Daniel journey south will affect how Daniel acts as he and Sean both come of age.
