** IF's Le Delphinus (think Sprenger from Manga/Bleach). It's a brilliant move, very powerful, and creates a giant pillar of light that damages the opponent, and if you're lucky, seals their skills. But using it drains so much SP that IF can't use it more than once at lower levels.
** Some spells early on start out this way. Though they generally hit hard, your SP/mana level is really low, and takes quite a few levels before it reaches a point where you can cast a lot of spells.
* BeefGate: Some of the higher level dungeons will act like this, which you'll quickly find out if you're under-leveled and on the receiving end of a CurbStompBattle. Your only real clue ,aside from searching for info on the internet, is to see how much memory it takes to unlock the dungeon. Typically the more you need, the harder the monsters will be.
* BFG: Compa's syringe. Neptune even notes of the cliche of carrying a huge weapon.
* BFS: Most of the sword-wielding CPUs' weapons when they transform. Justified in that they're PhysicalGods.
* BilingualBonus: In both versions, actually, and they carry the same meaning. In the Japanese version of the game, Compa suggests calling Ai-chan (Iffy) "Rabu-chan". In the localized version, Compa suggests calling her "Ai" when Neptune stated "Iffy" must mean "I Feel For You", and declared it love. See DevelopmentGag below.

** Quick attacks which fill up your exe bar is usually the preferred way to attack, as attempting to whittle down the armor on tough monsters, especially in higher level dungeons, takes more time than just building up the exe gauge and spamming LimitBreak attacks on them.
* BossInMooksClothing: Thankfully averted for the most part. Most dangerous foes are rather large and imposing, so it should provide a visual clue that they're going to be tough. Unfortunately a few of them don't stand out terribly from their non-boss counterparts, such as the shampuru. Made worse by the fact that they will also likely be the first ones you run into for new players.

While her magic does melt its armor easily, it's not the carnage that was heard offscreen when she destroyed them from the inside. Immediately lampshaded when she remarks after the battle that her normal techniques are much less efficient.
* DarkerAndEdgier: This game certainly qualifies. * DiscOneNuke: There is a free DownloadableContent pack that is a collaboration/promotion for VideoGame/FairyFencerF What the DLC entails is a replica of Eryn's Fury and Fang's Fairize form as a processor (both for Neptune) with the former being an InfinityMinusOneSword, as well as a battle with some bears, which are pretty tough for those below level 80... Unless you have the Terra or Stone processors, which will NoSell Lightning attacks when fully equipped, which is the bears' only attacks. Even better? After beating them the first time you get to challenge them in the Coliseum, setting up a PeninsulaOfPowerLeveling that will allow you to reach the inital Level cap (and quite always thought the level cap increases). For the VITA version, this is averted for most cases as it was released long after the game itself. The Steam version? It's there along with the rest of the DLC on release date.
* EnemyMine:
** Done against Purple Heart in the beginning by Black, White, and Green Heart as a means to eliminate a competitor and break out of the stalemate they were currently in. All three agree because they feel Purple Heart would pose the greatest threat to them individually.
** Neptune often ends up teaming up with the other goddesses to help them resolve issues in their respective lands. It gradually turns into a FireForgedFriends as they endure their various hardships together, and find out they're NotSoDifferent from each other.

** After the Black Heart boss battle, Noire states that Neptune only won because it was a 3-on-1 as Neptune was backed by IF and Compa, before saying that 1-on-1, it would be a whole 'nother story. When the 4 CPUs were battling in the intro, Purple Heart was dominating the fight and it took Black Heart teaming up with Green Heart and White Heart in a 3-on-1 EnemyMine against Purple Heart to get her out of the picture.

* JekyllAndHyde: Even more so than in previous installments. Instead of just being a change in character, a goddess's normal and CPU forms are very distinct personalities this time around. While they never conflict, they occasionally go as far as referring to each other as separate entities.

And after Neptune's power is stolen, Arfoire retracts her promise, stating that GoodIsDumb. Just tilting the camera angle will get you this with some girls; Noire is the easiest to perform this on, though it can be seen when some girls attack. Compa's is the most well known; her white panties flash in her victory pose.
* PaperThinDisguise:
** The developers at Felistella thought the Goddesses needed a disguise when they were needing secrecy out in the open. What was the ingenious disguise, you ask? A pair of glasses. Ironically, the only entities the glasses do work on... are other [=CPUs=].
** Special mention goes to Noire while she's in the party the first time. The player knows perfectly well she's Black Heart, and it's plain as day her "amnesiac" story would buckle under casual questioning, even if the glasses buy her a few seconds to be evasive. She only pulls it off because of Neptune's ADD, Compa's ditziness, and IF getting cut off or ignored every time she tries to be suspicious.
** Lampshaded when Vert does it. Neptune notes that she had certain other characteristics that give her away, and sure enough, when they get to Lowee, Blanc sees through her disguise immediately.

** Histoire was always just a supporting NPC until this game, where she is a playable DLC Character.
* PowerCopying: specialty. She absorbs the abilities of anyone she targets and then can replicate them perfectly, Even worse, if the power is retrieved, still maintains a copy that she can alter to her whims.

** To WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy levels, actually. Unlike in the first game, where just Compa couldn't pronounce Neptune's name, quite a few characters have pronunciation issues with the main character's name, and the game loves to drag that out. Ironically, everyone can pronounce "Planeptune" just fine.

** Do not interrupt Neptune's Pudding time. Noire gets in on this as well, to the point that Neptune and Noire have a contest fighting monsters, with the prize being pudding.

* WakeUpCallBoss:
** Black Heart in Chapter 2. It doesn't help that you fight her immediately after another boss with no chance to heal or save. She is actually pretty standard for a boss and players who know what they are doing can beat her a few levels under par.
** Though optional, Dangerous Shampuru also qualifies. Made worse by the facts that a) players can enter this dungeon before seeing the tutorial on dangerous enemies and b) on the field it doesn't look any different from all the normal enemies in the area, and without seeing the tutorial they have no idea what the Orange dot on the minimap means. Many new players tried to fight it with no idea that they were walking into a boss fight.

After beating them the first time you get to challenge them in the Coliseum, setting up a PenisulaOfPowerLeveling that will allow you to reach the inital Level cap (and quite always thought the level cap increases). For the VITA version, this is averted for most cases as it was released long after the game itself, the Steam version? It there along with the rest of the DLC on release date.
* EnemyMine: Neptune often ends up teaming up with the other goddesses to help them resolve issues in their respective lands. It gradually turns into a FireForgedFriendship as they endure their various hardships together, and find out they're NotSoDifferent from each other.

* PeninsulaOfPowerLeveling: The coliseum can serve as one once you're strong enough to take them on. Though initially it takes some grinding in the dungeons to build up to some of the harder matches, once you can grind those, then reaching the AbsurdlyHighLevelCap of level 999 will probably take less time than when you first start from low levels.

** To FamilyGuy levels, actually. Unlike in the first game, where just Compa couldn't pronounce Neptune's name, quite a few characters have pronunciation issues with the main character's name, and the game loves to drag that out. Ironically, everyone can pronounce "Planeptune" just fine.

** Some spells early on start out this way. Though they generally hit hard, your SP/mana level is really low, and takes quite a few levels before it reaches a point where you can cast a lot of spells.
* BadButt: White Heart speaks BeefGate: Some of the higher level dungeons will act like this this, which you'll quickly find out if you're under-leveled and on occasion.the receiving end of a CurbStompBattle. Your only real clue ,aside from searching for info on the internet, is to see how much memory it takes to unlock the dungeon. Typically the more you need, the harder the monsters will be.

* BoringButPractical: Regular attacks, while not as flashy as EXE drives, or as cool looking as spells and specials, will be just fine in taking down everything but dangerous foes and bosses. Though if you're sufficiently overleveled, even lower level bosses are a cakewalk as well.

** Quick attacks which fill up your exe bar is usually the preferred way to attack, as attempting to whittle down the armor on tough monsters, especially in higher level dungeons, takes more time than just building up the exe gauge and spamming LimitBreak attacks on them.

Added DiffLines:

* CurbStompBattle: You'll typically be on the giving end of these:
** Played straight as you level up. Monsters from lower leveled dungeons will die fairly quickly.
** Inverted example if you enter a level that's way too high for you, such as Haneda Forest, which will give even level-capped players some trouble. You'll quickly know when you barely do any damage to them, and they can kill you in one or two hits.
** Inverted during a HopelessBossFight. You are expected to lose that fight, before a second one shows up normally afterwards, where you can then defeat the boss.
