* DummiedOut: Due to the mod's long development cycle, this was bound to happen.
** There was a much different Map Pack in the past, featuring two maps of admittedly very odd design (including a rising lava room) and unpolished Mehanir and Veltanir battles.
** Nakiel was a playable character that used, as its model... the Guardian from Doom 3. No wonder it was removed.
** Before Tyzen's creation, there was a strange character by the name of Rahor, but it was never fully completed.
** There used to be two upgraded versions of existing weapons, the Dark Railgun and the Cynetik Shotgun. They were replaced by the Trakion Cannon and the Cynetik Striker Cannon respectively.

So he made a VideoGame/Doom mod for it. Hunter's Moon is built upon GZDOOM (with its gameplay component also being compatible with Zandronum) and can be downloaded here. It has been reworked numerous times, but with the second release of the Map Pack, it seems to finally be steering towards a very clear direction. The current edition features the complete monster roster (with possibly additions and reworks to happen), handpicked, modified and twisted from VideoGame/Doom 3 and VideoGame/Doom 2016, the full weapon roster which includes guns not present in the original game, four "Dungeon" maps of which three contain their own exclusive boss, an unfinished tutorial map, and a special coop-only Tower Defense map, Monoliths of Agora. It is notable among other mods for its usage of 3D models for both aesthethics and gameplay.
----
!!Hunter's Moon provides examples of the following tropes:
* ActionGirl: All of them.
* AntiFrustrationFeatures: The checkpoint system, which allows to prevent SaveScumming without forcing the player to play the map from the beginning. It also works in coop, sparing your friends from having to trek the whole map just to get to you.
* ArtEvolution: Compared to the plain arenas of the original game, the various locations of the Temple of the Portals shown in the mod are often highly detailed and convey a feeling of grandeur.
* AnAxeToGrind: The Barons and Veltanir have one.
* AscendedGlitch: The implementation of Bunny Hopping in a Zandronum-compatible way has led to the creation of a new technique, Stair Boosting, where bunny hopping on stairs boosts your speed and can allow for extremely high and long jumps.
* BadassBoast: The Map Pack bosses have a slew of their own.
* BarrierWarrior: Most of the Scout-role characters.
* BerserkButton: Unfair matches seem to be this for Mehanir, as he only gets enraged when two or more players are fighting him.
* Main/BFG: More than one.
** The Chaingun certainly qualifies, due to its extremely high power and speed.
** The BFG 10k, of course.
** The Cynetik Striker Cannon is quite like this.
* BloodierAndGorier: The new gore effects are... splatterrific, to say the least.
* BloodKnight: The alternate version of Doomslayer portrayed here is more like this than the original TerrorHero.
* BlownAcrossTheRoom: Mehanir's Arcane Stones can do this to you.
* BoringButPractical: Unlike usual Doom and Quake, the Rocket Launcher is your main weapon, and while it doesn't have the Shotgun's flash and awesome factor, it's much more efficient at taking down simple encounters and its ammo is plentiful.
* BottomlessMagazines: No weapon ever needs to reload, as in the original.
* BraggingRightsReward: The medals from Quake 3 now avert this, giving you a powerful Orbital Deconstruction Beacon (Impressive) or a Life Binder (Excellent).
* ChainsawGood: As in Quake 3, the Gauntlet.
* CrisisCrossover: The story is heavily this, with most characters from Quake having to defeat Doom's Hell and the Tamers of the Dark.
* DeathIsNotPermanent: Lore-wise, the Arena Warriors can infinitely respawn in set locations of the Temple.
* DefeatEqualsExplosion: The Astral Rages and the Helltime Hunters (although only the former actually causes damage to anything).
* DifficultButAwesome: Several examples.
** Using the Trakion Cannon and the Cynetik Striker Cannon effectively requires high skill and awareness of your surroundings, but the result is always worth it.
** The Map Pack bosses are as gratifying to defeat as they are hard.
** Surviving for long in Monoliths of Agora nets you waves of even more epic proportions.
* EasterEgg: In Path to Oblivion you can find a greek caryatid to place on a certain altar. It will play a musical track once it is. This references the "aesthethic" memes of the late 2010s. Also, if you kill enough enemies with the Life Binder's explosion, the game will reference the Phil Swift "That's a lotta damage!" meme from roughly the same times.
* EldritchAbomination: The Tamers of the Dark are absolutely this, as well as the Temple of the Portals itself.
* EvilTaintedThePlace: Most notable in Glimpse of Dimensions, where the area is visibly warped by the forces of Hell.
* ExplodingBarrels: Enhanced in function compared to Doom's. The Astral Rages can also be used as this.
* GameMod: A LOT, to the point the gameplay component is almost unplayable with standard maps and necessitates of patched versions of those or the Map Pack.
* GatlingGood: The Chaingun here takes it UpToEleven, having the highest normally possible rate of fire in GZDOOM.
* Main/Gorn: Gibbing many enemies in one shot is rather easy and very, very satisfying.
* HitScan: While most modern Doom mods avert this, Hunter's Moon plays this straight for zombies, some player weapons, and the Asmodeus' twin chainguns.
* HumongousMecha: The Cyclops Heavywalker is this.
* IdiosyncraticDifficultyLevels: In order, "Battle Recruit" (Hurt Me Plenty), "Arena Warrior" (Ultra Violence), "Oblivion Gladiator" (Original) and "Vadrigar Reincarnation" (NIGHTMARE! without respawning monsters).
* InvulnerableAttack: Mehanir's OneHitKill move.
* LighterAndSofter: Sort of. The outlook of the mod is far less desperate and nihilistic than in the official Quake series.
* LudicrousGibs: And how.
* MassiveMultiplayerCrossover: A cooperative-mode one in contrast to the original Quake 3.
* MoreDakka: Morgan's ability, aptly named Dakka, which increases his weapons' speed.
* NoOshaCompliance: As seen in Rarlocan Main Base, the Temple doesn't really care about safety.
* OriginalGeneration: The Alliance, Tyzen and Zanieon are this.
* OverarchingVillain: Hell.
* OverdrawnAtTheBloodBank: One has to wonder just how much blood those demons have in their bodies.
* PowerUp: There are many;
** Mega Health grants you 100 overstacking health.
** Dense Armor rises your armor to 300, but also makes it work like in Doom 2016/Eternal's rather than as in Quake 3.
** Hazard Protection makes you immune to all map hazards and gives you high damage resistance for a limited time.
** Regeneration quickly regenerates both health and armor for a limited time.
** Quad Damage quadruples your damage for a limited time.
* QuickMelee: The Special Action key is this when playing as Tyzen and Zanieon, or using the Cyclops Heavywalker.
* RareRandomDrop: A few.
** The Chaingun Commando can drop a Chaingun or an Heavy Machinegun, as well as ammo for them.
** The Mancubus can drop a Nailgun and ammo for it.
** The Bruiser can drop a Trakion Cannon and ammo for it.
** Common bosses can drop a Dark Matter Gun or the Cynetik Striker Cannon.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: The Cyberdemon and the Asmodeus.
* SecondaryFire: The Ultimate Fire Mode is a special attack avaiable for some guns, namely the original Quake 3 ones except the Gauntlet and the Machinegun. It takes 50 kills to use, and consumes the weapon's ammo if present.
* ShortRangeShotgun: Mostly.

!!Hunter's Moon provides examples of the following tropes:
* ActionGirl: All of them.
* Main/BFG: More than one.
* DifficultButAwesome: Several examples.
* InvulnerableAttack: Mehanir's OneHitKill move.
* LighterAndSofter: Sort of. The outlook of the mod is far less desperate and nihilistic than in the official Quake series.
* LudicrousGibs: And how.
* OverarchingVillain: Hell.
* OverdrawnAtTheBloodBank: One has to wonder just how much blood those demons have in their bodies.
* PowerUp: There are many;
** Mega Health grants you 100 overstacking health.
* RareRandomDrop: A few.
* ShortRangeShotgun: Mostly.
* ShoutOut: Monoliths of Agora is directly based on the game VideoGame/Paragon, and all Map Pack maps are decorated with statues of its characters. Also, the mod is named after a track by Music/TwoStepsFromHell.
* TankGoodness: The GEV Tank.
* UltraSuperDeathGoreFestChainsawer3000: Especially in large-scale battles.
* UnusableEnemyEquipment: Justified; in the mod's lore, the Arena Warriors are physically incapable of using any weapon that has not been integrated into Arena Eternal. The Alliance has managed to hack a few weapons inside the systems, including the vehicles.
* UpToEleven: Definitely when compared to official Doom and Quake games, featuring gigantic MMO-like bosses as if completely normal, much bigger battles that can involve massive amounts of enemies.
* UseItem: The vehicle wireframes and the OEDB.
* VillainTeleportation: The Summoner and the Harvester, as well as the Wraith. Mehanir also does this.
