''Food Fantasy'' is a story heavy gacha {{RPG}} whose gameplay revolves around two things: A GameplayAutomation battle where you aid your summoned Food Souls In battle, and a Restaurant Management game where you sell a wide variety of dishes and get lots of money. Originally released by Funtoy games in 2017 in Chinese application play stores, it was released internationally by Elex on July 20th, 2018, on the Google Play store and iOS, and later received a Japanese release on October 2018. In early 2019, a second global version for Oceania and South America was released, titled ''Food Fantasy: New Journey''.

An example of this would be Peking Duck and Yuxiang’s story [[spoiler: In Yuxiang’s story, you find out about the aftermath of a whole city being destroyed, with Peking Duck being heavily implied to be the one who destroyed it, in Peking Duck’s story you find out his motivations and why he spared Yuxiang.]]
* ArbitraryHeadcountLimit: In both Teams and the Restaurant.

** The number of Food Souls that can work in the Restaurant is determined by the level your Restaurant is at, with more positions being unlocked as it levels up.
* AndYourRewardIsClothes: Some events reward the player with a "Skin", which is an alternate appearance of a Food Soul. Equipping this would give the Food Soul a new portrait and a new outfit, sometimes including a new weapon.

In the beginning, the world was filled with desire and lust. People were never content with what they had. This ever-lasting desire for more eventually gave rise to the God of Beginnings.

The God of Beginnings is one with the universe: a holy entity from a place of “Dreams”. Possessing the powers of creation, it released an infinite amount of souls into the world. These souls fused with the living and the inanimate. Eventually, humans and souls became the most developed pair of species. Living in harmony, they moved forward on the axis of time and space. However, after thousands of years of harmony and peace, an all-out war broke out between souls and humans. Although humans prevailed, both sides suffered immense casualties. Souls were exiled while humans became the rulers of the land. This historical war became known as the Era War.

Horrified by the war, the God of Beginnings fell into despair, giving rise to negative or even evil energy. Realizing what was happening to him, he forced himself into a deep slumber to avoid the potential dangers that could arise. But not even the chains of an eternal slumber could contain it. From this evil energy, Fallen Angels were born and began to spawn around the world.

As Fallen Angels populated the world, the scales of balance began to tip. Fueled by hunger, greed and sins, they imposed their will on humanity. The world quickly fell into darkness. If this were to continue, the world would be facing extinction.

When all hope seemed lost, the Magic Academy discovered a new breed of souls lying dormant within “Food”. In a race against time, the scientist began to research and developed a powerful Magic Crystal that could awaken the souls lying dormant in food. Through countless failures, they finally succeeded in awakening these Food Souls. Food Souls were not only conscious and highly intelligent but they also had the abilities of magic. They quickly became the deciding factor in the war against the Fallen Angels.

The awakening of Food Souls instilled hope into humanity again. And as the struggle between Fallen Angels and humans continued, balance was once again restored. The survival or extinction of humanity has become a question that can only be answered by time itself.

The continent of Tierra is being threatened by the fearsome creatures known as Fallen Angels, with only the spirits known as Food Souls standing between them and humanity's destruction! In the midst of this, you, the hero, are determined to survive and run a famous restaurant.

So summon up some Food Souls, and start building teams to battle foes and manage the restaurant!

* DatingSim: There's no actual dating involved but Food Fantasy has the pledge system which functions similarly to marriage.

* ThoseTwoGuys: Some skills can be used when two (or more) Food Souls are in a team together, such as Black Tea and Milk, Coffee and Chocolate, Cloud Tea and Sweet & Sour Fish, Wonton and Tortoise Jelly, and many others.

* CastHerd: Some groups of food souls have their own stories and interpersonal problems. Such as Coffee, Chocolate, Milk, Black Tea and Tiramisu were once running a cafe together and Peking Duck's story connected to Hawthorne Ball, Plum Juice and Yuxiang. Doubling with OneDegreeOfSeparation because while some Food Souls aren't ''too'' connected per se, they have a connection to at least ''one Food Soul'' from the group. (Sakuramochi, for example, isn't as involved with Raindrop Cake's problem as Bonito Rice did but she is still connected to him as part of the CastHerd).

* CherryBlossoms: Sakuramochi is a CherryBlossomGirl. During the Spring Time event, one of the rewards was a frame decorated with Cherry Blossoms. The event Sakura Falls introduced Raindrop Cake, who is associated with hydrangeas but has cherry blossoms on his umbrella.

* EdutainmentGame: ''Sort of?'' All of the food in the game is well researched, from when it was first invented, its country of origin, and what type of food it is. You'll probably come across at least a few dishes you've never heard of while playing, and might be tempted to go research it further.

* LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: There are so many different kinds of personified foods.
