This also resulted in the UsefulNotes/TheHaysCode, clearly laying out what could not be depicted in an MPPDA-approved film.

* The twilight years of UsefulNotes/TheSilentAgeOfAnimation were noted by the prominence of cartoons [[RogerRabbitEffect featuring live-action actors interacting with the cartoon characters]] starting with Max Fleischer's ''WesternAnimation/OutOfTheInkwell'', [[FollowTheLeader sparking many imitators]] like ''WesternAnimation/DinkyDoodle'' and ''WesternAnimation/AliceComedies''. Both series made their respective creators Walter Lantz and Walt Disney known in the animation field.
