The only one he consistently treats well is [[MoralityPet Beth]] and it still didn't stop him from abandoning her in her youth. However, it's very clear that no matter how toxic and mean he is about it, he does love his grandkids. He becomes extremely jealous whenever Morty or Summer start admiring someone more than him, he does make gadgets when they ask him to fix their problems and [[PapaWolf should you get the idea to hurt his family, you likely won't survive the attempt.]]

* Miss Grotke from ''WesternAnimation/{{Recess}}'' is for 95% of the time a sweetheart. But when provoked… BewareTheNiceOnes.
* Bubbles from ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls'' is easily the sweetest and most affectionate of the girls, but if you underestimate her in any way, she can and ''will'' show you how ruthless she can be.
* The titular character of ''WesternAnimation/SpongebobSquarepants'' can be said to be this. He's normally a happy-go-lucky sweetheart with a kind word for everyone. But when [[BreakTheCutie pushed too far over the edge]], he can be a real {{Jerkass}}. He always snaps back relatively quickly, though.

* Nova from ''WesternAnimation/SuperRobotMonkeyTeamHyperforceGo'' is usually very nice and likable if feisty, until it's time for battle or Sprx's cockiness and flirting set her off.
* Wilma Flintstone from ''WesternAnimation/TheFlintstones'' is a good example of Sweet. She's all [[NiceGirl sweetness and light]] until her husband Fred goes from JerkWithAHeartOfGold to JerkAss. ''The Flintstones'' are probably a good example of what happens when a pair with BelligerentSexualTension eventually gets their act together and finally [[CannotSpitItOut Spit It Out]].
* Emily in the new ''WesternAnimation/ThomasTheTankEngine'' seasons. She's normally quite sweet until something sets her off. Usually when [[{{Mooks}} the trucks]] start giving her crap, Thomas acts like a BrattyHalfPint, James acts like a JerkAss, Gordon like an UpperClassTwit, or if she just gets [[{{Pun}} ideas above her station]].

* Maurecia from ''WesternAnimation/{{Wayside}}'' is a GenkiGirl who is extremely friendly and liked by everyone in Wayside School. And she expresses her [[AllLoveIsUnrequited unrequited love]] for Todd by hitting him, ''constantly''.

* Minerva Mink from ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}''. For the most part, she's Tsun-Tsun, but at the end of any of her skits, she'll go Dere-Dere towards an attractive male.

* Tasha in ''WesternAnimation/TheBackyardigans'' might be one of those. Most of the time, she's bossy and wants everything her way, but during the "Giant Problem" episode she becomes a playful GenkiGirl Giant.
* [[AlliterativeAppellation Duleena Duneeda]], AKA D.D. from ''WesternAnimation/Ballmastrz9009'' is effectively a parody of tsundere as her defining personality trait. Technically "deredere" by default, she will immediately fly into her particularly threatening and cartoonishly violent "tsuntsun" side for any reason. [[HairTriggerTemper Or no apparent reason at all]]. Her introduction to the series is to sweetly hug her teammate Ace, and declare that another character isn't allowed to make fun of him, only to immediately snap, declare that only SHE can make fun of him, and proceed to piledrive Ace. Ace isn't even her boyfriend. That's a different teammate, Leto Otel, who she acts even crazier towards.
* Chelsea in ''WesternAnimation/{{Clarence}}'' is fairly friendly and sociable and [[spoiler: kisses Sumo]] in "Too Gross For Comfort." However, she is also very hot-tempered and blunt, saying whatever is on her mind no matter the situation.

* Turanga Leela from ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}''. She has a love for violence and hit mostly everyone at least once, besides her love interest Fry. She is usually Sweet but Fry makes her irritated often, especially in the beginning. His stupidness, annoyingness, and immaturity brings it out of her turning her Harsh. Leela at first didn't feel the same but as the series progressed, she fell in love with him, in part to Fry's persistence and also his consideration of her feelings.

* Velma in ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooMysteryInc'' has become this, being sweet and romantic when she's alone with Shaggy but then becoming aloof and irritated when Scooby horns in.
* Kimmy in ''WesternAnimation/SymBionicTitan'' seems to go back and forth between both types. She's introduced to us as being rather cold and snobby, but she becomes sweeter as she warms up to Newton.

In almost every episode, she's angry, sarcastic, and extremely critical towards the rest of her colleagues (most of all Archer, due to their shared on-and-off relationship). However, she has shown a few moments where she's acted friendly, and even ''loving'' towards her team, a trait that's most prominent due to her [[spoiler: sudden pregnancy]] in Season 5.

* Cat from ''WesternAnimation/{{CatDog}}'' is a male example, especially when it comes to his brother Dog. He'll often let his MoneyFetish and {{Jerkass}} tendencies get the better of him, but [[LaserGuidedKarma whenever Dog's been truly humiliated or upset]], [[AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther he'll do whatever it takes to make him happy]].
* If you look at it as MetaphoricallyTrue, Wally aka Numbuh 4 from ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor'' is a male tsundere. He's the kind of kid who's crazy for action, but when Kuki's being sweet to him, he can't look at Kuki straight in the eye.
* Jeanneline from ''WesternAnimation/DragonHunters'' browbeats Gwizdo constantly (and justifiably) about his unpaid tab. She's also very much in love with him and time and time again expresses her desire to marry him.
* Sarah from ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy''. It's hard to tell, because she's almost always in tsun-mode--occasionally going full-blown [[AxCrazy Ax Crazy]]--but she does have her occasional dere moments, mostly toward [[CampStraight Jimmy]].

* A rare male example: [[TheMeanBrit Kyle]] from ''WesternAnimation/FanboyAndChumChum'' qualifies. While usually dismissing the titular duo's pushy friendliness with [[DeadpanSnarker snark]], he has occasionally shown to crave their friendship in reality, most prominently in the episode "Sigmund the Sorcerer".
* Some fans believe that this is the hidden behavior of Trixie Tang toward Timmy Turner in ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents''. In fact, in the episode ''Manic Mom-Day'' she truly behaves as a tsundere.
* It's hard to believe, but in ''WesternAnimation/TheGrimAdventuresOfBillyAndMandy'', the eponymous Mandy is a tsundere. A Valentine's Day episode revolved entirely around her trying to break out of her ''deredere'' mode. There's also the moment when Mandy finds out that Billy fell in love with a seemingly normal girl. Cue a shocked expression, a slightly saddened expression, then a total verbal beatdown of how desperate the girl is. If it were anyone else other than Mandy, one would call her jealous.

* Heloise from ''WesternAnimation/JimmyTwoShoes'' goes from tsun to dere when Jimmy shows up… and then to {{yandere}} when her [[GreenEyedMonster jealousy]] gets the better of her.
* Lily from ''WesternAnimation/KappaMikey'' must have the diaphragm of ten lions and threatens physical pain not just on her target of affection Mikey but on the rest of the cast as well. Only once in a full moon does she admit that Mikey's sweet.

* Kendall in ''WesternAnimation/KickButtowski'', whenever Kicks around she acts in her tsun-mode. But when he's not looking she goes in dere-mode for him.
* Vanessa Warfield from WesternAnimation/{{MASK}} towards Brad Turner in the second season.
* Murderface from ''WesternAnimation/{{Metalocalypse}}''. Oftentimes he is rude, crude, and disrespectful to his band mates and the world around him, but occasionally becomes emotional and insecure of himself (especially in [[spoiler:Performanceklok]] and [[spoiler:Birthdayface]]). Creator Brendon Small describes Murderface as, [[http://www.synthesis.net/music/interview/item-7111/2008-07-17-metalocalypse "a self-hating bass player […] thin-skinned and incredibly sensitive]] and [[InferioritySuperiorityComplex just wants to be accepted constantly but can't get that because he's such a dick and pushes people away."]]
* Teddy from ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyTales'' is this to Sweetheart, as seen in the episode "Stand By Me".

* Candace of ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'' has some aspects of this. Most noticeable in "Split Personality", in which she's split into pure Tsun Tsun and pure Dere Dere duplicates.
* Buttercup from ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls''. She's very short-tempered, takes no crap from anyone and can be rather abrasive towards anything she doesn't see the point of, but if she's in a good mood or if you're someone she's close to, she can be pretty easy to get along with.
* Mitchell from ''WesternAnimation/ReadyJetGo'' is this this big time, to the point where he could possibly give [[WesternAnimation/{{Hercules}} Megara]] a run for her money. He usually acts distant and stuck-up towards the main cast, and is easy to anger, [[BerserkButton especially if you sneak up on him]]. However, underneath his ''tsun tsun'' facade, he does [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold have a kind and caring side]], which is particularly being played up as of Season 2. This is showcased with his interactions with Sean and [[ImpliedLoveInterest Mindy]].
* Non-romantic example (most of the time): Spinelli from ''WesternAnimation/{{Recess}}'' is (usually) dere-dere towards the other five main kids, but tsun-tsun to everyone else. Also, she's the most dere-dere with T.J., whom it's hinted she has a crush on…
* Ren from ''WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow'' is one towards his best friend and [[HoYay life partner]] Stimpy. Less so in the first episodes, where apart from Ren's occasional and usually justified insults, the vitriolic part of their relationship is barely visible. But, oddly for tsunderes, his positive/neutral attitude goes downhill as episodes pass. In ''Adult Party Cartoon'', [[{{Flanderization}} he turns into a monster]]. His tsundere behaviour towards Stimpy varies between DomesticAbuse and IShallTauntYou, with only the latter receiving any noticeable reaction. In earlier seasons, he used to have CryCute breakdowns fairly often, with Stimpy as his shoulder to cry on--in "Son Of Stimpy" and "The Big Shot" it's also very obviously portrayed that he cares deeply for the moronic cat, which is the "dere" side of his personality.
* Rick from ''WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty'' is a classic type A, being rude, uncaring and harsh and he constantly claims to be irritated and indifferent to his family - he regularly insults them, drags Morty on dangerous adventures against his will and often acts like he isn't a human like them, dismissing love as merely a chemical reaction. The only one he consistently treats well is [[MoralityPet Beth]] and it still didn't stop him from abandoning her in her youth. However, it's very clear that no matter how toxic and mean he is about it, he does love his grandkids. He becomes extremely jealous whenever Morty or Summer start admiring someone more than him, he does make gadgets when they ask him to fix their problems and [[PapaWolf should you get the idea to hurt his family, you likely won't survive the attempt.]]

* Squidward Tentacles of ''WesternAnimation/SpongebobSquarepants'' could be seen as a Tsundere. He's usually cranky, cantankerous, and rude. But sometimes, when Spongebob [[BreakTheCutie has been pushed a little too far]] and [[CryCute starts to cry]], [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Squidward]]'s heart will positively ''melt'' and he'll do everything he can to fix the situation. Then he'll go right back to being a [[HiddenHeartOfGold grouch]] after Spongebob has cheered up. He has shown and even blurted out that he does like Spongebob, but most of the time he's too proud to admit it.

* Think one male tsundere is rare? How about ''two'' of them put into the same environment? [[BoisterousBruiser Buck Tuddrussel]] and [[RobotBuddy Larry 3000]] from ''WesternAnimation/TimeSquad'' refer to each other with great amounts of disdain in their default tsun mood, but if placed in a proper situation, can be nice, open and protective over each other (though they are never at the same time). This is more prominent with Larry, who is not subject to TestosteronePoisoning.

* This was the personality given to Zelda in the animated ''[[WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfZelda Legend of Zelda]]'', although usually only when dealing with [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Link]].

* [[WesternAnimation/RegularShow Rigby]] was originally shown as one towards Eileen.
* Zenblock of ''WesternAnimation/SuperNoobs'' is this towards the Noobs and the cultures of Earth as he is a type 1 non-romantic, male version of this. He doubts the Noobs experience and skill but warms up to them after they help him achieve his dream of winning the recruiter of the year award. As for the cultures of Earth, he is more hesitant in exploring it as his best friend, Memnock is childishly fascinated with exploring but Zenblock makes some exceptions if it involves candy or toys, or offers him competition against Memnock.
* Cera of ''WesternAnimation/TheLandBeforeTime'', especially after [[TookALevelInKindness taking a level in kindness]] in the sequels. Bossy, egotistical, and stubborn, but is a sweet girl on the inside [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold who will always be there]] for her friends when push comes to shove.

* Katara from ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' acts as the kind and mature TeamMom, but she's also ''very'' stubborn and hot-tempered.
* Linka from ''WesternAnimation/CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteers''. No, she doesn't like [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Wheeler]] ''that way''...or so she says. She [[AlmostKiss comes close to kissing him several times]] in the series, and is his ClingyJealousGirl whenever a female expresses interest in him. The two finally [[TheyDo share a passionate kiss]] in [[StealthPun Episode 69]], "Missing Linka", and their interactions warm up after that, showing genuine affection for each other on several occasions.
