Oh hey, humanity wants to escape Gaia's omnicidal rampage by building a SpaceColony. Guess what happens? Fucking Gaia drives anyone who tries to escape to homicidal insanity, [[StupidEvil even if the excess human population is causing a strain on her]], and if MotherNature wants to solve the OverpopulationCrisis non-lethally, she could go with a SterilityPlague[[note]]I know that sounds initially scary for many, but I can assure you that's much more merciful than getting EatenAlive by giant bugs[[/note]], or at least simply let humans build space colonies without further strife so long as both sides won't bother each other again. I guess Gaia is too much of a salty bitch to let go of [[EvilIsPetty petty revenge]] (aka self-righteousness), especially if doing so would be a win-win solution for both her and humanity in the long run. The worst part is that the heroes decide to kiss her ass by abandoning ''all technology'' that's beyond the middle ages, even if [[InferredHolocaust millions of people]] depending on medical devices due to genetic disorders, permanent disabilities, and diseases will die horribly (or at least struggle even more), essentially making Gaia a SocialDarwinist.
