* WrittenInAbsence: Nicole did not return for Season 3, as Zoey mentioned that she's been shipped off to an all-girls school due to her obsession with boys. The unfair mistreatment she had to endure on set from her castmates is what led Alexa Nikolas to quit the show.

* BaseBreakingCharacter: The titular Zoey herself. Some fans like her for being a JerkWithAHeartOfGold who despite having a few [[ItsAllAboutMe selfish]] JerkAss traits here and there, still cares deep down while others hate her for being a purely self centered {{Jerkass}} who has contempt for everyone around her.

** Unlike Nikolas, Paul Butcher (Dustin) was initially on good terms with the cast and participated in most of the reunions. However, when discussing the "Follow Me" music video project (which Jamie Lynn Spears heavily implied would serve as the theme song for a reboot), Butcher grew weary of the lack of communication from Spears. He soon found out that the project was not being endorsed by Nickelodeon at all, and was told by Spears that none of the original show's cast members would be paid for the project because there was no money in the budget. When Butcher inquired about various social media influencers and celebrities such as Creator/JoJoSiwa participating in the project, Spears said that they were all doing it "on spec". Creator/NoahBeck, who also participated, later admitted to Butcher that this was a lie and that they were indeed paid. Butcher backed out of the project (which was later blasted by fans as a scam) and, during the #[=FreeBritney=] movement, stopped associating with Jamie Lynn and voiced his support for Britney. Like Nikolas, Butcher was not included in any reunions after that, and was not asked to return for ''Zoey 102''.

** Plans were made for a revival series, which were ended in July 2021 when Music/BritneySpears viciously accused her sister of being part of the exploitive conservatorship she’d suffered under for years. Paul Butcher voiced his support for Britney and said the revival was “deffo not happening.” That being said, the series instead became the SequelInAnotherMedium film ''Zoey 102''.

** Spears would bring up their feud in her memoir "Things I Should’ve Said" - which was already met with public backlash due to her role in her older sister's conservatorship, seeing it as a ploy for her to attempt to play victim. In it, she claims Nikolas was the one who bullied her and talked about her behind her back. Nikolas would release an Instagram post confirming she was lying, saying it was a "typical move for a bully to play the victim card/gaslight others while straight up lying".

* OneHitWonder: For at least half the main cast, with notable exceptions being Music/VictoriaJustice (who is now better known for ''Series/{{Victorious}}''), Creator/AustinButler (who only had a main role in the final season), and, to a lesser extent, Creator/ErinSanders. For Jamie Lynn Spears, this show is the only reason why she's not known ''solely'' for being Music/BritneySpears' sister. Even on Website/{{Wikipedia}}, "Sean Flynn (actor)" and "Matthew Underwood (actor)" redirect to the show's page and the character list, respectively.

*** It should be noted that had she got the part, Dana likely wouldn’t haven't left the show. Had Dana not left the show, Victoria Justice wouldn't have joined the show. Without Victoria Justice, ''Series/{{Victorious}}'' would have probably never existed.

** Britney Spears herself spoke of the incident in 2022, publicly and profusely apologising to Nikolas and describing how Jamie Lynn had manipulated and exploited her BigSisterInstinct to have her go after Nikolas. Nikolas replied accepting wholeheartedly the apology.

* AdoredByTheNetwork: When this show was on Nickelodeon, it was one of the most aired sitcoms on the network alongside ''Series/DrakeAndJosh'' (at least until they were replaced by ''Series/{{iCarly}}'' and ''Series/{{Victorious}}'' following their cancellation). Years after it ended, Creator/TeenNick began to show reruns ad nauseam, giving it nearly as many showings a day as, if not more than, ''Series/DegrassiTheNextGeneration''. It is arguably responsible for [=TeenNick=]'s rapid NetworkDecay. Now it has been averted to an extent, as while [=TeenNick=] still shows the show frequently, it's nowhere near as frequently and constant as it was in 2011-2012.
