** Marines were called "Marauders" and had a grenade launcher ability. Blizzard couldn't balance it, and it now only appears in cinematics. Another option Blizzard toyed with was to give them [[MoreDakka man-portable]] [[GatlingGood "Chaingun Cannons"]] instead of assault rifles ([[TheArtifact incidentally, this could be why the "Infantry Weapons" button is a picture of a minigun]]). The minigun was eventually given to Tychus Findlay in ''VideoGame/WingsOfLiberty'' (when not piloting the Odin) and Co-Op, and the Marauder was made into a separate unit with heavier armor and Punisher Grenade Launchers optimized for AntiArmor.

* UrbanLegendOfZelda: There's a persistent rumor that it started out as a ''TabletopGame/Warhammer40000'' game before the liscensing fell through. It draws more inspiration from ''Franchise/AliensVsPredator'' and Chris Metzen's childhood homebrew comic books about an American Civil War [[RecycledInSpace IN SPACE!]]. It's just that the Terrans, Zerg, and Protoss match up very well with the Imperium, Tyranids, and Eldar (Aeldari to you Johnny-Come-Latelies).
