Examples Are Not Recent. If the page was left as it was, it would still say it's "currently the top selling Switch game in Japan" even after another game overtakes it (thus making it no longer "currently"); until someone corrects it, and who knows how long the false info would remain on the page until then?

** After the announcement of the Octo Expansion and the fact that it's located in a subway, a few keen eyed fans noted there had been an inaccessible subway entrance in the main plaza, down an otherwise dead-end path. While one could argue the path was merely there for symmetry with the entrance to Salmon Run, a these fans speculated it would be the entrance to the Expansion's content and had be hiding in plain sight since day one. Even the sprite artwork of a Gunion (the octopus-like enemy from ''VideoGame/SuperMarioLand'') seen in the subway entrance made it more obvious. They were correct.

Not trivia.

* FridgeBrilliance: In Octo Expansion, one of the latter chat sessions between Pearl, Marina, and Cuttlefish has Pearl comment that Octolings have started coming to Inkopolis and also have started to blend with society. While this may seem weird if you're still stuck down in Deepsea Metro, this chat session occurs when it's entirely possible that other players have cleared Octo Expansion as quickly as possible without doing all the tests and only focusing on getting all Thangs first, which is probably what so many did.

That's just draw distance. The tree doesn't get rendered until it's a certain distance from the camera, just like any other foreground object that isn't stage geometry.

** The trailer for ''Octo Expansion'' actually contains one little bit: in the trailer version of the "battle Octolings in the woods" stage, trees pop up when their stumps are shot, suggested that this sort of terrain manipulation would be a component of the game. In the final game, all the trees are deployed from the start, and none of the challenges utilize this sort of tech.

** Relatedly, "playable" Octolings were possible via data manipulation as far back as ''Splatoon 1'', but upon seeing this in action many people speculated that one of the problems holding the concept of formal playable ones back was that, since they weren't originally designed to be playable, the EightiesHair-inspired Octoling hair was built in such a way that wasn't compatible with the vast majority of hats ''at all'' and they'd need a hair remodel to be playable. The hair remaining in ''2'' for the NPC Octolings was seen as a sign playable ones might not happen. Cue ''Octo Expansion'', and the female Octoling hair has been ''significantly'' re-designed to play much more nicely with hats, while still retaining the general shape and concept.
