Added examples.

Added DiffLines:

* DawsonCasting: The entire Host Club boys were cast with actors in their twenties at the time of filming of the live action's first episode. Yes, this includes Honey, whose actor, Yudai Chiba, is honestly the youngest at 22, followed by Tamaki (Yusuke Yamamoto, 23), Kyoya and Mori (Shunsuke Daito and Masaya Nakamura respectively, 25) and topped out by the Hitachiin twins (Shinpei and Manpei Takagi who were 25 but fast approaching 26). This is, however, averted by Haruhi herself, who really is TheBabyOfTheBunch for having 16-year-old Haruna Kawaguchi in the role, and Nekozawa, as Ryo Ryusei was 18. For the recurring characters, this is generally averted, except for Ayame Jonochi, whose actress was 20.
** The film added some more Dawson Castings with Tomohiro Ichikawa playing Kuze at 20 and Mariko Shinoda playing Michelle at 25.

Added DiffLines:

* FakeNationality: Subverted, sort of. The Monarus in the manga are fully European, while the film cast Asian actors in the role, so at first glance this is likely the case. However, it turns out the Monarus of the film are based in UsefulNotes/Singapore, which is a melting pot of a country, and on top of that, they are at least also partly Japanese, considering that Michelle has a Japanese middle name. This means the film is correct in casting Mariko Shinoda as Michelle. As for her brother, this is a bit more complicated. Nichkhun is an American of Thai Chinese descent, so the Japanese explanation doesn't add up, but since the Chinese are the largest single ethnic group in Singapore, the Monarus might have been also part-Chinese in addition to part-Japanese, so his casting makes sense.
** There are also Nekozawa (Japanese of Russian descent) and Renge (European of Japanese descent) respectively played by the very Japanese Ryo Ryusei and Tao Tsuchiya.

Crowner called for removing Hey, It's That Voice/Guy examples from trivia pages: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=1454613823001793300&page=4#89

* HeyItsThatGuy:
** In the live action adaptation, four of the main characters will be played by Tokusastu actors:
** Tamaki is Kamishiro Tsurugi;
** Honey is Alata;
** Kaoru is Retsu Fukami, while Hikaru is his evil doppelganger from Episode 38 (and Takuma).
*** RetroactiveRecognition: And now Nekozawa will be Kyouryu Red!
* HeyItsThatVoice: Going down the list, we have the voices of Winry Rockbell, Edward Elric, Roy Mustang, Nami, Eneru, Kohza, and Negi Springfield for our main cast in the dub. As well as Konoka as a recurring character and Rin as a one-episode supporting role.
** In the drama [=CDs=], Sailor Mercury was Haruhi.
** The casting also ends up as a sly TakeThat to the sheer amount of Bishounen characters from Franchise/Gundam:
*** In the Anime, Tamaki is Setsuna, Nekozawa is Billy, and in a rare case of PlayingAgainstType, Ranka is Zechs, Gym, Mwu, and Frederick. To top it all off, Benibarra-sama is supposedly a male-pattern Innovade; while years after the anime ended, Kyouya ends up in Gjallarhorn.
*** In the Drama CD, Tamaki is Heero, Hikaru is Kira, Kaoru is Shinn, and Kyouya is Sting.
*** In fact, the designation of Tamaki's seiyuus is actually a mild case of PlayingAgainstType, considering the fact that the two characters as mentioned earlier are stoics...
** In the Japanese anime, Tamaki is Light Yagami. What's also funny is that Haruhi is also Kiyomi Takada...
** ... and Kyoya is Teru Mikami.
** And Nekozawa is Sanosuke.
** Due to the dub being Funimation, some of the voice actors are the same as in their previous dubs. For instance, Kasanoda and Tetsuya are Ayame and Shigure from Manga/FruitsBasket. Haruhi's father is Ritsu (also a cross dresser, interestingly).
** Tamaki is Death the Kid. Haruhi is Crona. Hikaru is Killik. Kaoru is Justin. Honey is Angela. Haruhi's dad is Excalibur. We could go on.
*** In the dub, Tamaki is Death Scythe. Hikaru is Death the Kid. Mori is Free. Hunny is Medusa. Haruhi is Kim.
** In Manga/BlackButler Haruhi is Ciel and Eclaire is Ciel's fiancee, Elizabeth, in the original Japanese. In the English dub Honey is Alois and Kyouya is Sebastian...
** We all know Kyouya isn't the nicest guy around, but even he doesn't beat the light-catching prowess of VA-mate The Doctor. Honey is kid!Train, Chika is Leon, Haruhi is Saya, Kaoru is Shiki... the list goes on.
** Hey, Tamaki took Anime/Naruto as an apprentice and he turns out to be a better ChickMagnet.
** Kyoya thinks that America and England need to do something about their tacky military clothes as well as their sexual tensions.
** After voicing Hikaru, it wouldn't be the last time that ToddHaberkorn would voice an older twin.
*** And Hikaru keeps Machiavelli in his suitcase and would really like some Pasta.
*** And Nekozawa has probably replaced Beelzenef with Herr Schtick.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Originally, Kyouya's character didn't exist. The reason Hatori created him was because she was told to add seven more pages to the first chapter. Hence, she figured she needed an extra Host Club member.

* SurpassedTheTeacher: Hatori Bisco herself is an example of this, given that she used to be tutored to an extent by Hino Matsuri, the author of Manga/VampireKnight, who at the time was a more experienced mangaka (and Vampire Knight being more popular than Ouran to boot), whom Hatori greatly admired and looked up to. Eventually however, Vampire Knight suffered from SeasonalRot and a steep loss of popularity along with it, while Ouran continued to climb the ladder of most successful shoujos, making it as far as to the top 10 list in Japan and even surpassing shounens such as (a rare accomplishment for a shoujo). In contrast, Hino Matsuri was told to end her story earlier than she wanted, her decrease in storytelling-quality and popularity not leaving Vampire Knight substainful enough for the [=LaLa=] magazine anymore (same one as Ouran was published in).
