* TheOtherDarrin: Both Creator/ChikaoOhtsuka and Creator/LeonardNimoy passed away in early 2015, meaning both the Japanese and English voice for Master Xehanort will be replaced. Creator/ChristopherLee passed away a few months later as well, so if Ansem appears, he's definitely being voiced by Lee's Other Darrin Creator/CoreyBurton, and the same goes for Scrooge [=McDuck=] after Alan Young's death in 2016. The same goes for Creator/YukoMizutani as Minnie Mouse in the Japanese version, as she died in 2016 as well.

* VaporWare: Of a sort. While not having been officially announced until E3 2013, fans have been anxiously waiting to see confirmation that this game is indeed in development since the last numbered entry, ''Kingdom Hearts II'', was released back in spring of 2006. Previous speculation based on Square Enix's current development plans was that it wouldn't hit its development period until up to ''2016'' [[labelnote:*]]due to the remakes' expected development schedules finishing off in maybe late 2014 and ''[[VideoGame/FinalFantasyXV Versus XIII/FFXV]]''[='s=] team being assumed to join ''KHIII'''s developers, ''FFXV'' requiring a couple more years to finish before moving on to ''KHIII''.[[/labelnote]].

Following that trailer, they surprised everyone with a Gameplay Trailer for ''Kingdom Hearts III''.

Square-Enix had announced that they would be showing off ''Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD [=ReMIX=]'' at the E3 2013 presentation. Therefore, a number of people watching the surprise trailer went in expecting to see footage of the collection, making the reveal of ''Kingdom Hearts III'' all the more surprising. Of course, Square-Enix was honest about ''1.5'' appearing... In the form of a still image that followed the trailer.
