* ThrowItIn: Mona Marshall was watching the movie ''Film/OctoberSky'' when she heard one character say "prodigious". Upon finding out it was another word for 'awesome', she made it Izzy's CatchPhrase in the dub.

** Takeru was replaced by Creator/MegumiHan in place of Creator/HirokoKonishi for [[VideoGame/DigimonAdventurePSP the PSP game]] (as the latter had quit voice acting), who was cast because [[PromotedFanboy she had been a fan of the series as a child]] and thus was able to imitate Konishi's Takeru with ''uncanny'' accuracy. On the American side, Takeru's English actress, Creator/WendeeLee was replaced for the last episode of the Devimon arc and the first few episodes of the Etemon arc by Mimi's actress, Creator/PhileceSampler, while Lee was on her honeymoon.

** [[VideoGame/DigimonAdventurePSP The PSP adaptation]] also has Devimon played by Creator/RyotaroOkiayu, as Creator/KanetoShiozawa, who voiced the character in the original anime, died in 2000. This is [[HilariousInHindsight amusing]] (or disconcerting) when one takes into account that Creator/AiMaeda, who voices Mimi, married Ryotaro Okiayu shortly before the game was released in Japan.
*** Most if not all the Digimon that were not part of the main cast or a major villain were substituted by other actors either due to their original performer being deceased or otherwise not asked back due to cost. For an example of the former, Piccolomon was voiced by the late Isamu Tanonaka in the TV series but is darrined in the game by Creator/YujiMitsuya. In the latter category, Elecmon's previous actor, Creator/YasuhiroTakato, was replaced with actress Creator/YumikoKobayashi for the game.

* PromotedFangirl: Creator/MegumiHan, who plays Takeru in [[VideoGame/DigimonAdventurePSP the PSP adaptation]] (replacing Creator/HirokoKonishi, who retired from voice acting), has been a big fan of the franchise since childhood.

* NoExportForYou: [[Literature/DigimonAdventure The novelizations]] and audio dramas were never released in English. The same goes for [[VideoGame/DigimonAdventurePSP the PSP adaptation]] that was released in 2013 (somewhat rectified through a FanTranslation]]).

* DummiedOut: Data for Magnadramon's attacks exist within the PSP game, meaning that Ophanimon was not the first choice for Gatomon's Mega level.

* BetterExportForYou: The Japanese Blu-ray release is noticeably washed out and quite a bit of details are lost. The Discotek BD release [[note]] for both the subbed and dubbed {{BDs}} which were released separately [[/note]] instead upscales the SD masters which, though showing a bit less picture than Japan's HD master, preserves a LOT more detail and is a LOT less washed out.

* AdoredByTheNetwork: While it didn't save the block, Fox Kids touted this show like crazy come time to air the dub, especially in the midst of the Pokemon craze that allowed Creator/KidsWB to be the dominate Saturday Morning block at the time. The fact that the show managed to win over a large part of that crowd allowed Fox Kids to stay afloat a bit longer.

** Several of the male characters are voiced by female actors in both English and Japanese. Koushiro/Izzy is voiced by Umi Tenjin in Japanese and Creator/MonaMarshall in English, Takeru/T.K. is voiced by Creator/HirokoKonishi in Japanese and Creator/WendeeLee in English, and Patamon is voiced by Miwa Matsumoto in Japanese and Laura Summer in English (though he gets a male actor for his evolutions).

* WordOfDante: Since the first episode showed that the original kids’ Japanese names are still their proper names, with the dub names being nicknames, many assume this is the case with Kari as well, whose original name was Hikari. However, this is never actually stated in the series itself. Kari is called "Hikari Kamiya" by Wizardmon in the English version of the highly compressed Digimon manhua. Which was produced by ''{{Creator/Tokyopop}}'', of all things, not Saban or Disney's Sensation Animation.
