* SleeperHit: While the ''Devilman'' franchise is already popular in Japan, it was more of a CultClassic for American viewers. Another thing against it was it being a Netflix exclusive anime, which after ''Anime/NeoYokio,'' sparked a lot of skepticism. However, not only was this a hit for Americans, it sparked a NewbieBoom for the other incarnations of the franchise, as well as Go Nagai's other works.

** ''Big time'' in the Latin American Spanish dub with Emilio Treviño (Akira Fudo/Devilman), as he is normally typecasted voicing kid characters, or the NiceGuy, his most very-well known roles being as [[Anime/DragonBallSuper Cabba]], [[ComicStrip/{{Peanuts}} Charlie Brown]] and even ''[[Franchise/WinnieThePooh Christopher Robin]]''.

* RelationshipVoiceActor:
** In the Latin American Spanish dub, Emilio Treviño (Akira Fudo/Devilman) and Miguel Ángel Leal (Ryo Asuka) worked together as Arthur Pendragon and Meliodas in the dub of ''Manga/TheSevenDeadlySins''.
** In the Japanese dub, [[Creator/KoukiUchiyama Akira]] and [[Creator/AyumuMurase Ryo]] were also in ''Manga/{{Haikyuu}}'' as Tsukishima and Hinata, respectively; as well as in ''Anime/YuriOnIce'' (Yurio and Minami) and ''Manga/TheAncientMagusBride'' (Ruth and Joseph). It's why some ''Haikyuu!!'' fans are continuously in disbelief about who voices who in ''Crybaby''.

* ChildrenVoicingChildren: During flashbacks to their childhood, Akira and Ryo are voiced by actual children (Satoshi Yamazaki and Akira Fujimura, respectively). Taro is also voiced by a child (José Luis Piedra) in the Latin American Spanish dub.

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: The presence of UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump (who recently lost the 2020 elections) seems to confirm the anime as this.

** This adaptation has garnered a lot of interest in the source material. It definitely helps that the manga is finally getting an official English translation in Spring of 2018.

* CastingGag: This is not the first time we hear Creator/KoukiUchiyama voicing a shapeshifter, except the last time he did it, he used to shift into an [[WesternAnimation/AmericanDragonJakeLong American Dragon]]. He also voiced Nightcrawler in the Japanese dub of ''Film/XMenApocalypse'', who is a mutant resembling a demon.
