* BreakawayPopHit: While the film is by no means obscure, Music/RedHotChiliPeppers had one of their biggest hits, "Soul To Squeeze," off the soundtrack, thanks largely in part to it's SurrealMusicVideo (which Creator/ChrisFarley also starred in).

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: As Creator/ConanOBrien mentioned on his podcast, he was an extra in one scene (he played one of the Remulakans) but it wasn't used in the final film.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: In a sense. The film has a scene that was either deleted or added to pad the film for airing on networks and that is not seen on the videocassette version. Beldar is finishing repairing his neighbor's lawn mower, and when the neighbor is leaving with the mower, he sings a parody of the State Farm jingle. "Like a good neighbor, Beldar is there...". 22 years later and the characters were reprised in ads for the insurance company itself.
