** Homer can (and will) be as stupid as he likes for the purpose of the [[BizarroEpisode Halloween episodes]]. Many other characters also tend to suffer a bit of a drop.
*** ''IV'' has Bart barely escape from a group of vampires, reach the top of the stairs, and then look at the lever that triggers the SurpriseSlideStaircase (which he already pulled) and decide to pull it again, just for fun.
*** In ''XI'', when Bart and Lisa are lost in the woods after being abandoned by Homer, Bart decides to trust [[Literature/HanselAndGretel an old witch living in a candy house]]. Lisa, in a rare lapse in judgement, decides that Bart is probably right. The result is that they get chained up and forced to do chores while the witch plans to eat them. [[BullyingADragon She then makes fun of the witch for making up a fake boyfriend]][[note]]Who turns out to be real[[/note]], which almost got her thrown in the oven; thankfully, Homer managed to appear just in time to rescue them.
*** In ''XIII'', Homer finds a hammock that can clone him and ends up making many ''who are dumber than him''. With the threat of Homer clones overtaking the USA, Lisa, in front of the real Homer, suggests the military lure all the clones over a cliff with giant donuts. It works. And when Marge is about to relax in the end, she learns her Homer is a clone. The real one ''was the first over the cliff''.
*** In ''XXIV'', Bart is flying a box kite at an airport and gets tired. He laments that he has nowhere to tie his kite and forgot to wear a scarf... then gets the brilliant idea of tying the kite string to his ''neck''. As a result, he gets decapitated when Arnie Pye's helicopter runs into his kite. Luckily, he manages to survive after his head is attached to Lisa's shoulder.
*** In ""XXVI'', Sideshow Bob lures Bart into a trap with the intention of shooting Bart with a Harpoon Gun. Rather than make any attempt to trick Bob as he had done in the past, escape, or even make any real attempt to try to avoid being shot, Bart just mockingly dances [[BullyingADragon mocking Sideshow Bob for his past incompetence and even drawing an X on his forehead daring Bob to shoot him.]] Bart still doesn't get it after Sideshow Bob does actually shoot him through the chest. * ''WesternAnimation/StarTrekLowerDecks'': In "[[Recap/StarTrekLowerDecksS1E05CupidsErrantArrow Cupid's Errant Arrow]]", the plan to destroy an unstable moon is complicated by the fact that the inhabitants of Mixtus III don't seem to understand that their moon's orbit is decaying and will crash into their world, and care more about petty political and social ramifications. The representative of Mixtus II is genuinely concerned that the absence of the moon will expose his planet to deadly radiation and kill them all, until he reveals near the end that "all" comprises just him and his wife. One group objects because they lived on that moon for generations, ignoring how the moon is already falling apart and was going to crash into the planet, which would also destroy their homes.

** The Trandoshan scavenger Gha Nachkt. You'd think the guy would be smart enough to not be rude to a psychotic, eight-foot-tall, cyborg who could use four lightsabers at once, like [[HeroKiller General Grievous]], but apparently, he was not.
** ARC trooper Echo is this in the Season 3 episode "Counterattack". He charges right to the shuttle they were supposed to protect, while a Commando Droid fires a turret at him and he takes cover under the shuttle, only to be blown to smithereens, taking away the group's one way ticket out.

* The ''WesternAnimation/SuperFriends'' episode, "Volcano", had the captain of an alien ship that crashes lands into an active volcano. Despite the fact the ship and crew is in dire peril sinking into the magma, he refuses to accept the help of native superheroes because they may be "dangerous".

** ComicBook/LoisLane. She's put herself in danger multiple times, but at least usually she didn't know how dangerous it was or at least ''tried'' to take some kind of precaution. But in “Target”, she's being targeted for murder. She knows how dangerous her unknown enemy is and she's actually under police protection. During a phone conversation with Clark she suddenly realizes who the attempted murderer is. What does she do? She sneaks off to confront them face to face. While Clark and everyone else still thinks she's under police protection. If it hadn't been for Luthor just happening to call Clark to give him a vital piece of information she would have been dead by the end of the episode.
