Finally, Black Doom's cluttered contribution to ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2'''s plot shoehorns in a lot of baggage to explain why Shadow looks like he does, which further drags down Black Doom's standing. Black Doom is KilledOffForReal as the TrueFinalBoss of Shadow's game, and there have been no attempts to bring him back, which is largely seen as a good call by the fanbase.

Combined with the fact that he was a KarmaHoudini in his last appearance, he only earned scorn from readers which probably contributed to him being RetGone after the reboot.

** Abby the koala from ''Mobius: 25 Years Later'', Knuckles and Julie-Su's maid, is a very minor character who nevertheless has a rather large hatedom. It stems from a combination of her creepy design (she looks a bit ''too'' much like an actual koala when put next to the other, stylized characters) and her characterization veering too close to a {{Mammy}} for most people.

* [[ExpositionFairy Omochao]] gets a lot of heat for being an AnnoyingVideoGameHelper with a grating voice and advice, which couldn't be disabled until ''VideoGame/SonicGenerations'' and was often the grade of [[CaptainObvious "keep your HP above zero" and "hit the boss"]]. To make matters worse, not only is he a [[ReplacementScrappy downgraded Tikal]] -- who served the same role, but with less of Omochao's flaws and actually being relevant to the story -- but also replaced Cream in ''VideoGame/TeamSonicRacing'' for Team Rose's line-up, with no mention of her anywhere. While the series has made several self-aware references to his unpopularity (to the point where he's ammo for the hidden [[LethalJokeWeapon Omochao Gun]] in ''VideoGame/ShadowTheHedgehog''), fans wish they could just remove his batteries and leave him that way for good.
