The Nicelanders are a group of people, but are still technically disliked for the same reason.

Added DiffLines:

* The Nicelanders (with the exception of Felix) of Disney/WreckItRalph are hated by fans as well. Their only purpose in the game is to stand at their windows and scream for Felix to help them, occasionally providing pies as power-ups. Then they toss Ralph off a building. They also shun Ralph after the game is shut off at night, making him sleep in a brick pile in a dump, even though they are perfectly aware that it's his job to wreck their building. InnocentBystanders they are not. Adding more to their flak is not inviting the guy to their 30th Anniversary, because while he may be a villain, he's still technically their co-worker. Of them all, Gene is probably the most hated due to his obnoxious, condescending personality and attitude towards Ralph, which causes him to run off in the first place and then has the sheer audacity to put all the blame on Ralph when the big guy pulls off what they essentially bullied him into doing because of the trouble it's caused, and never gets any manner of comeuppance. The one good thing that can be said is that they turn their attitudes around in the end (but largely offscreen).

This is downplayed, however, as some people are able to get past it for being such a NiceGuy and even the people who don't like him actually find it easy to sympathize with him for what Jerkass Davey puts him through.

** As seen above, even with Whitey's flaws, he still comes off as likable in his own way due to his personality. However, the only character that audience truly hates is the main character, Davey. He has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and spends the majority of the movie terrorizing innocent citizens, beating down on poor Whitey, and just being a hugely unpleasant person in general. It doesn't help that he comes off as an UngratefulBastard since Whitey helped him get out of prison and allowed him to stay at his house after his trailer/home gets burnt down. He's meant to come off as sympathetic due to his backstory (), but his actions towards everyone makes him more as a completely unsympathetic bully and it makes it impossible to sympathize with him. ** Governor Radcliffe is an unusual example for several reasons, starting by the fact that as a villain, he's meant to be disliked. But he has a very unusual reasons for being disliked among Characters/DisneyVillains - he just isn't cool enough. He'd be a SoOkayItsAverage villain, and perhaps would even have a couple of fans, if not for the fact that like the rest of the movie, he had the bad luck to follow Disney/TheLionKing, which had Scar, who was generally considered far cooler. To add insult to injury, Ratcliffe was followed by a villain who was even MORE beloved and cool than Scar: conflicted KnightTemplar Claude Frollo, who was succeeded by the genuinely likeable and cool Hades, who was followed by the incredibly intimidating and impressive Shan Yu, who was followed by the FauxAffablyEvil EgomaniacHunter Clayton And that's if you don't count villains that came before Scar: FauxAffablyEvil villains like McLeach and Jafar, the absolutely terrifying Ursula, and the MemeticBadass that is Gaston. Ratcliffe just couldn't cut it compared to the otherwise-stellar track record of Disney Renaissance villains as far as coolness was concerned, and fans of EvilIsCool villains didn't forgive him for it.

** Penny is disliked by several people due to her cruelty towards Sherman at the beginning of the movie and suffering no consequences for it. She causes most of the title characters' problems and doesn't get called out on it. She does become nicer and more tolerable towards the end of the film, but the fact that what she did to Sherman earlier is completely forgotten, it's hard for viewers to get over what happened. Though, a few people don't mind her considering that she at least gets better by the end of the film and it's one of those rare moments where Creater/ArielWinter is PlayingAgainstType.

The fact that [[spoiler: she wants Mr. Peabody dead when he justifiably bites her since she was hurting his adopted child]] doesn't help matters.

* The Nicelanders (with the exception of Felix) of Disney/WreckItRalph are hated by fans as well. Their only purpose in the game is to stand at their windows and scream for Felix to help them, occasionally providing pies as power-ups. InnocentBystanders they are not. Adding more to their flak is not inviting the guy to their 30th Anniversary. Seriously, guys. He may be a villain, but he's still technically your co-worker. That's just cold.
