* ForWantOfANail: According to Jorgen in "It's a Wishful Life", a lot of bad things in the world are Timmy's fault. In the alternate universe where he never existed, the Chicago Cubs have won multiple World Series, for example.

* HistoricalInJoke: One of Cosmo and Wanda's previous godchildren used their magic to [[UsefulNotes/WorldWarI kill Archduke Ferdinand]].

* EvilSorcerer: Mr. Crocker in "Timmy the Barbarian", a clear reference to Thulsa Doom in the [[Film/ConanTheBarbarian namesake movie]] and [[ComicBook/ConanTheBarbarian comic book.]] He's also this in ''Big Superhero Wish'', being a CompositeCharacter pastiche of Doctor Strange and Doctor Octopus.

* DownerEnding: "The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker." In an effort to prevent Crocker from becoming evil on March 13, Timmy accidentally reveals his fairies to the crowd, traumatizing Crocker into becoming the torturous crazy teacher he is today. Timmy can't even go back to fix it because Jorgen Von Strangle bans him from travelling back in time to that month ever again.

* EarlyInstallmentCharacterDesignDifference:
** In the original ''WesternAnimation/OhYeahCartoons'' shorts, Timmy's parents always have their faces hidden offscreen, to the point where their original model sheets depict them as headless. Their outfits are also considerably different: Mr. Turner wears a teal three-piece suit and brown shoes, while Mrs. Turner wears a red dress and high heels, gold bracelets, and a pearl necklace.
** Vicky's sister Tootie had a noticeably different design during her debut in the ''WesternAnimation/OhYeahCartoons'' short "The Fairy Flu". Her head was more oval-shaped, her pigtails were a different shape, she wore pink glasses frames as well as a blue dress and she didn't have braces.
** The Tooth Fairy was depicted with red hair in her first appearance rather than blue.
** Cupid's appearance in the ''Oh Yeah!'' short "The Zappys" depicts him as blonde, gigantic, overweight and wearing little besides a diaper.[[note]]though this design does appear on and off again in the series proper, notably the episode "The Same Game"[[/note]] In the series proper, he looks more like a standard fairy, has pink hair and wears a pink coat in addition to a diaper.
** The Crimson Chin's first appearance is in the final ''Oh Yeah!'' short "Super Humor", where he notably lacks the black spot underneath the C insignia on his chin that he'd be depicted with in the actual series.
** When the Anti-Fairies made their debut in "That Old Black Magic", Anti-Cosmo had normal-looking teeth. All subsequent appearances would depict him with fangs.
** Dr. Rip Studwell was depicted with EyesAlwaysShut in his debut episode "Hard Copy". Subsequent appearances depict him with his eyes clearly visible like everyone else.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness:
** In the original first season, Timmy was the OnlySaneMan, Cosmo and Wanda were equally intelligent, and Vicky feared her parents.
** In both the ''Oh Yeah!'' shorts and all Season 1 episodes, the ending cards have a saying somewhere that says "Made in Hollywood U.S.A!". This was dropped starting with "Christmas Everyday!", as at that point, post-production departments switched to CCI Digital.
** In early seasons Timmy losing his fairies didn't include having his memories erased. It wasn't until the Season 3 episode "Origin of Denzel Crocker!" that this became an aspect of losing ones fairies.
** In the first season episode "Father Time," Timmy uses the heat vision he wished for earlier to win a race. The second season would introduce the "can't use magic to win a competition" rule.
** Trixie mentions her mother in her debut episode "A Wish Too Far". In future episodes, only her father is ever seen. Her mother isn't even at any of her house scenes.
** Jurgen had a godchild named Winston in one of the ''Oh Yeah!'' shorts who was never seen again.

* FanserviceExtra: Numerous episodes have used this, sometimes for comedic effect. Examples include (but aren’t limited to): Mrs. Claus in ''Christmas Everyday!'', the female lifeguards in ''Beach Bummed!'', Carly in ''Five Days of F.L.A.R.G.'', the supermodels from ''Escape From Unwish Island'', Main/TheShrink from ''Crocker Shocker'', and the surfer girls from ''Beach Blanket Bozos''.
