* The Butler's Memo you find in the game; he is aware that Salazar is being manipulated by Saddler (the latter exploiting the former's FriendlessBackground to trick him into undoing the Las Plagas' imprisonment beneath the castle), and that he should have seen it coming, yet he realizes that it's too late to do anything now that Salazar has taken the Plaga into his body and it is now an adult inside him so it cannot be removed unless Salazar dies. He displays UndyingLoyalty to the castellan anyway, stating that he has served eight generations and is continued to do so until the very end. It is possible that this is written by one of the Verdugo's that accompany Salazar, which if true brings a heartwrenching twist to these otherwise monstrous creatures.

* Leon's brief conversation during the boss battle, and one that can easily be missed if the player takes too long.
-->'''Krauser:''' What is it that you fight for comrade?
-->'''Leon:''' My past, I suppose.
-->'''Krauser:''' [[FallenHero Umbrella.]]
** Leon's reply to Krauser would imply that Leon is fighting to redeem the past. Maybe Leon wishes on some level he could go back to the normal life he could have had if Racoon City wasn't destroyed. The life without the nightmares of that horrible incident, where he's an ordinary cop serving his community and having a relatively quiet life. But deep down Leon knows he can never reclaim that past, and that it was burnt away forever when Racoon City became ashes. Maybe a more optimistic take on things, is that Leon knows the horror of an outbreak and wishes to purge the world of viral monsters so no one else has to live through that horror, live with the pain of having their future stolen from them. If Leon can accomplish that much, then living knee deep in the pain of his past is a worth while sacrifice for him.

** Also how you see the villagers had children before Saddler arrived and injected them with the parasites, and there are no children to be seen in the actual game. Whether this is simply due to an error of communication between the game writers and the illustrators or it's actually implying something happened to the children before Leon got there is unknown, but there's something so chilling about it.

** [[TurthInTelevision It's also a pretty accurate portrayal, in desperate situations people can easily get emotionally attached to people they barely know, they latch onto someone or something to hold onto their sanity]]. Yes, in the game it's done in a cheesy way to the point where it becomes pretty hilarious, but when you stop to think how Leon must have actually felt, the character deaths become quite poignant.

* 4's ending credits...Damn. Seeing how the villagers had a normal life before Saddler started to use them for his own plans brought a tear to more than one gamer's eye.
