* Hym having a near-death experience, feeling the life of Sigma, Albynass and Hadlar fade before his own. He gets to experience true loneliness before coming back to life through unknown means (and it's presumed it was Hadlar's life entering him).
** And then Hyunckel, after non-lethally defeating him, decides to take death from Hym, wanting him to live on for his friends and Hadlar, as well as promising to fight him again in the future. That moved Hym to tears.

--> '''Dai:''' For a moment, he was one of us.
** A happy tearjerker happens shortly after that, when they all realize that Avan is very much real and alive. Popp, Dai and Maam hugs him while crying of joy, while Hyunkel stands away shedding manly tears without facing them.

* [[spoiler: Hadlar, close to crumbling and shielding Popp from Killvearn's 9 of Diamonds trap, cries his eyes out when Popp tells him he couldn't escape the trap with Dai because he wanted to save the super demon, even knowing that he will die soon, all because he too saw how Hadlar has changed.]]

* [[spoiler: Everyone puts too much faith on Dai being the hero, to the point most of them forgets he's still just a child who just saw his father die before him and witnessed the terrifying power of Vearn firsthand, and he fears not being able to live up to everyone's expectations, he is not sure that he himself can be a hero. That leads him to having a breakdown and running away. He gets better, thanks to Popp.]]

* [[spoiler: Dai's supposed death at the hands of Vearn. When everyone sees the Holy Dragon Mother they can only assume Dai is dead and the world's only hope might be gone, Popp and Mami can only admit defeat... Until Queen Flora cheers them up.]]
** [[spoiler: Baran's soul is what saved Dai from dying, but having revealed that he is the Dragon Knight whose death the Holy Dragon Mother sensed he has no choice but make a final request and share his last few words with Dai. The young hero is so saddened to see his father go again that he sheds a tear while unconscious.]]

** Then there's Dai's reaction to it [[NotSoDifferent realizing that as someone who is also been raised by monsters, if someone had killed Brass, his father figure, he'd be just as hateful]]. Leading him to be being conflicted about the issue.

** However, a TearJerker of the good variety happens after the battle when Baran realizes this little twerp of a human kid was fully willing to sacrifice himself, which already shook him somewhat, and EVEN THEN, [[spoiler:though he couldn't know it was thanks to Gomechan,]] he was able to will his DEAD body (Leona states her resurrection spell outright FAILED) into striking Baran in the back with magic, which gave Dai the time to launch his technique and end the fight in a draw. The selfless gesture made Baran realize how deeply wrong he was about underestimating the power of the human heart, and he firmly cements his NobleDemon credentials by saving Popp, acknowledging him as a WorthyOpponent in the process.

* Popp, determined to stop Baran at all costs, tries to use [[HeroicSacrifice Megante]] just like his mentor as a last ditch effort, giving his heartfelt farewell to everyone, and when it comes to his parting words to Dai, he breaks in tears pleading him to not look so pitiful. The sacrifice does bring Dai's memories back, but fails to even scratch Baran, and Popp is left without a single drop of life in him.

Added DiffLines:

* Popp's breakdown when Dai gets his memory wiped by Baran. He gets aggressive and impatient, but mainly because it means he also forgot of their mentor's heroic sacrifice.
** And after that they relocate Dai to the dungeon of a castle, the safest place they can guard him at from Baran and his Dragon Masters. Dai cries, not understanding they locked him up for his very safety, and Crocodine can't help but compare him to a hatchling sadly.
** Popp says some terrible things with a straight face, things that even Crocodine can't believe came from his mouth, but he did all that only because he didn't want anyone following him into his vain attempt at halting or defeating Baran and his Dragon Masters all by his lonesome self.
* Galdandy breaks down in a teary and sobbing mess after Popp explodes the head of his favorite Sky Serpent. This shocks Popp, because he never expected someone who killed so many humans to cry over a dragon. And comparing the life of one Sky Serpent to that of countless humans drives Galdandy to a state of [[BerserkerTears utter rage]], to the point the other Dragon Masters had to point out that Popp made a terrible mistake and not even they could stop him now.
