Which is published under Creator/FreeLeaguePublishing and Creator/ModiphiusEntertainment. Though initially appearing to be a traditional [[Creator/JRRTolkien Tolkien-esque]] inspired HighFantasy world, ''Forbidden Lands'' is actually set in a morbid DarkFantasy.

* AbusiveParents: The description of Halflings in the ''Player’s Handbook'' does not paint a pleasant Tolkien inspired home life for the player’s [=PC=]. It describes the kind of fake lives of Halflings where everyone ignores the unpleasant problems in their lives, with children at the mercy of parents coming home drunk to beat their children bloody.

Zygofer's henchmen, the feared Rust Brothers, still haunt the land, but the spellbinder himself has not been seen for many years. Fearful whispers say he has transformed into another demonic creature called Zytera.
