There were a total of 26 shorts in this series, each about 2 minutes long and intended to be aired between other shows. All the shorts were set at a particular stadium in the middle of the forest, where animal athletes from around the world gathered to participate in all manner of sports, from martial arts to pie-eating contests. As the athletes competed, a wisecracking snake wearing a cap and a shoe on his tail (named Coach John Adder in the English dub) provided commentary on their feats. Of course, things often got pretty wacky during these events, with stuff like a snowboarding whale completely destroying the stadium or kangaroo boxers producing an endlessly smaller and smaller series of fighters from their pouches - and our lovable announcer wasn't always able to escape the mayhem, we might add.

''Zoo Olympics'' is an extremely obscure series of animated shorts produced between France and Belgium. Debuting in 1992 to coincide with the ongoing Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, the show was the brainchild of legendary Belgian animator and cartoonist Picha, who is is nicknamed by some as "the Ralph Bakshi of Belgium" for his adult-oriented animated films (making this cartoon among his few kid-friendly works).

''Sandbox/MonsterLovingManiacs''
[[quoteright:839:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gdn0thbbgaarfhp.jpg]]

''Monster Loving Maniacs'' is a 2022 European animated series created by Rune Christensen and Anders Berthelsen and produced by Denmark's Ja Film with help from Belgium's Ginger Pictures and Belvision, as well as Italy's Mondo TV.

The show follows three siblings - teenage eldest sister Edith, preteen middle brother Ernest, and baby sister Bo - all of whom are united by their obsession and adoration for all things supernatural, monstrous, and horrific. Dubbed by their wildlife conservationist parents as "monster loving maniacs" for their interest, the three kids are sent by their mother to the tiny town of Grusselbrook (famed as the most haunted place on Earth) to stay with their maternal grandfather, whom their mother has never really talked about prior. As it turns out, their grandfather Van Alten shares his grandkids' interest in monsters; in fact, being into monsters is a family trait that happened to skip a generation, with the kids' mom having agreed to leave them with her father if they showed just as much of an obsession with monsters as he did. Naturally, the kids are all too eager to stay with their monster-obsessed grandfather (and his butler Randall) in his fancy old mansion and learn their family's ways.

However, Van Alten isn't interested in monsters the same way his grandkids are. Van Alten, like his ancestors and very much unlike his grandkids, is a HunterOfMonsters. He protects Grusselbrook from its frequent altercations with demons, undead, lycanthropes, and other horrors and abominations, placing these creatures in suspended animation so they may never terrorize humanity. Edith, Ernest, and Bo are not happy to see how their grandfather treats the monsters they love so much, and so they make an agreement with him - they'll stay to train under Van Alten in the ways of dealing with monsters, but in order to study them and learn how to help them coexist with humans instead of capturing and imprisoning them. Van Alten is skeptical of his grandkids' claims of being able to save and protect monsters, but he accepts their deal. Can Edith, Ernest, and Bo prove to their grandfather that monsters are worth protecting instead of capturing, or is Van Alten right about monsters being too dangerous for the world?

''Stella and Sam'' is the name of a series of children's picture books by Canadian author/illustrator Marie-Louise Gay and her husband David Homel first published in 1999. The series actually consists of three separate but related series of books, all set in Manitoba and featuring the same family and focusing on the two kids - the imaginative and fun-loving 9-year-old Stella and her curious and adventurous 4-year-old brother Sam, both of whom love to explore their outdoors surroundings, learn about their world, and play with their imaginations together.

Also frequently appearing in Rosey's adventures were her parents and her younger sister Nonnie and baby brother Tater, as well as two antagonistic nerds named Jeffrey and Matthew who acted as her archnemeses.

However, on May 15, 1992, a primetime animated special called ''The Rosey and Buddy Show'' was aired on Creator/{{ABC}}. Also produced by Nelvana, this special took a turn for the weird, with Rosey and Buddy invading Cartoonland to fight ExecutiveMeddling's efforts to "change their show" (yes, really). Alongside having Creator/RoseanneBarr voice her younger animated self this time, the special also featured appearances by characters from other Nelvana-produced cartoons airing on ABC, namely WesternAnimation/{{Beetlejuice}} and some of the WesternAnimation/{{Care Bears|1980s}}.

''Hippo Tub Co.'' is an AllCGICartoon created by David J. Corbett that debuted in 2001 on CBC's

It tells the story of Melody "Mel" Ravensfall, a 17-year-old girl from Grind City who has joined the environmental activists of Grind City University in fighting off the efforts by the powerful development company Grind City Futures (headed by Chad Peterson) to build over The Gods' Lake. However, her life is changed when an attack by Mel and ran her friends Duane, Erin, and Nico, on Grind City Futures goes wrong and a mysterious elk-like being named Wapiti appears to rescue her from Chad.

Mel soon learns from Wapiti that her efforts to save The Gods' Lake is in fact just the smallest skirmish in a vast cosmic conflict between three supernatural siblings called The Trickster, The Mother, and The Wetiko. For countless millennia, these great spirits have controlled the cycles of the world, each one being overthrown by the other two joining forces to usher in a new age. However, Wetiko, the one currently in charge, has grown far too powerful for Mother to replace, thus threatening Earth's balance and its future. In order to restore the natural order to its rightful form, the emissaries of Mother and Trickster must join forces, and Wapiti, emissary of Mother, reveals to Mel that she is the current emissary of Trickster, carrying the mysterious ancestral powers needed for her mission - and what's more, Chad is in fact the emissary of Wetiko himself.

Now tasked with dealing with a conflict far larger than what she initially understood, Mel and her friends, as well as Wapiti, face off against Chad, his corporation, and his secret master in a battle to bring the world and its cosmic zeitgeist to its rightful form. But even as the struggle to save Gods' Lake continues under their broader conflict, a terrible secret and an enormous power for good hides beneath the surface of The Gods' Lake, one that has the potential to change everything.

While Judith tries to find a way out of the bunker and find out what caused the apocalypse in the first place, Rafe and Gabe are seeking out the very bunker, for it could potentially save them and all the other survivors.

The show debuted in September 17, 2020 on Creator/TeletoonAtNight's French counterpart Télétoon la nuit (which still continues to run even after its Anglophone counterpart's shutdown in 2019) in Francophone Canada and then came to English-speaking Canada on the Canadian version of Creator/AdultSwim on September 20, 2020.

Ah, the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network, a little-known Canadian specialty channel that funds and airs television shows made by, for, and about Canada's First Nations (or Native Americans, as they're known by the Great White North's southern neighbor). The first national public television network by and for North American Indigenous peoples, the APTN does a wide variety of stuff: documentaries, news, dramas, specials, movies, sports, educational programs... and the subject of this page.

''Animism'' is an '''extremely''' obscure Canadian animated series produced for APTN's KidsBlock by the Vancouver media company Zeroes 2 Heroes that mixes First Nations mythology with UrbanFantasy. It tells the story of Melody "Mel" Ravensfall, a 17-year-old girl from Grind City who has joined the environmental activists of Grind City University in fighting off the efforts by the powerful development company Grind City Futures (headed by Chad Peterson) to build over The Gods' Lake. However, her life is changed when an attack by Mel and her friends Duane, Erin, and Nico, on Grind City Futures goes wrong and a mysterious elk-like being named Wapiti appears to rescue her from Chad.

''Animism'' was released in 2013 for a single 6-episode season titled ''Animism: The Gods' Lake'', but it was actually preceded by an alternate reality game called ''Animism: The Sacred Sites'' in the summer of 2010 to promote the series' development and eventual release. While the series gives the fundamental plot by itself, there is also an online adventure game, a graphic novel, and some short stories designed to tell more of the full story in a transmedia fashion or as standalone adventures. A second season called ''Animism: Titan Falls'' was announced to be in development, but that was back in 2014 and nothing has come out since.

''Sandbox/StellaAndSam''
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stella_and_sam.jpg]]

The books are:
* '''''Stella''''' '''series''':
** ''Stella, Star of the Sea'' (1999)
** ''Stella, Queen of the Snow'' (2000)
** ''Stella, Fairy of the Forest'' (2002)
** ''Stella, Princess of the Sky'' (2004)
** ''When Stella Was Very, Very, Small'' (2009)
** ''Read Me A Story, Stella'' (2013)

* '''''Sam''''' '''series''':
** ''Good Morning, Sam'' (2003)
** ''Good Night, Sam'' (2003)
** ''What Are You Doing, Sam?'' (2006)

* '''''Travels with My Family''''':
** ''Travels With My Family'' (2006)
** ''On the Road Again!'' (2008)
** ''Summer in the City'' (2012)
** ''The Traveling Circus'' (2015)
** ''Travels in Cuba'' (2021)

The books have been very successful and been met with quite a bit of praise from critics. Perhaps then it comes as no surprise that they were given an AnimatedAdaptation in 2011, which was produced (unsurprisingly) in Canada. Specifically, the ''Stella and Sam'' cartoon was produced by Radical Sheep Productions (previously known for ''Series/TheBigComfyCouch'' and later to be known for ''WesternAnimation/{{Fangbone}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheBagelAndBeckyShow'', incidentally both also adapted from children's books) and brought to life by Creator/MercuryFilmworks. '''Silvergate Media''' is a British TV production company established in 2011 by Waheed Alli, Elizabeth Dampler and William Astor and based in London.

The studio has its origins in a management buyout when Alli purchased the rights to the popular 2010 marine biology-focused PreschoolShow ''WesternAnimation/TheOctonauts'' and the works of beloved British author Creator/BeatrixPotter (creator of Literature/PeterRabbit) from multinational media company Chorion Limited (which he previously chaired), consequently founding his own studio to produce and distribute them. The studio quickly made itself known with its continued work on ''The Octonauts'' and its 2012 AnimatedAdaptation of ''WesternAnimation/PeterRabbit'', with the latter being handled internationally by Creator/NickJr (as has been the case for many of their shows).

Silvergate mostly produces cartoons in the PreschoolShow genre, but they have also dabbled a fair bit with shows for older kids. The most famous of the latter is doubtlessly their very first venture into such territory, that being the 2018 Creator/{{Netflix}} series ''WesternAnimation/{{Hilda}}'', an AnimatedAdaptation of the comics by author Luke Pearson done in collaboration with Canada's Creator/MercuryFilmworks that has met enormous critical acclaim worldwide.

In 2019, the company was acquired by Creator/SonyPicturesTelevision as part of their strategy of expanding into the children's TV animation market. Consequently, Silvergate's official trading name was rebranded as '''Sony Pictures Television – Kids'''. However, for marketing purposes, TV series produced by Silvergate Media like ''Hilda'' and ''The Octonauts'' continue to be released under the original branding.

[[https://www.ellipseanimation.com/ Ellipse Animation]] (also known as Le Studio Ellipse, Ellipse Programme, and Ellipsanime) is a French animation studio based in Paris. It was established in 1987 by Philippe Gildas and Robert Rea.

Ellipse is easily one of the biggest names in the French animation industry, having quickly made a reputation for itself in the early 1990s due to their work on many critically acclaimed French cartoons, like ''WesternAnimation/TroubleWithSophie'' and ''WesternAnimation/PirateFamily''. They are also well known for their hit co-productions with famed Canadian studio Creator/{{Nelvana}}, such as ''WesternAnimation/{{Babar}}'', ''WesternAnimation/{{Rupert}}'', ''WesternAnimation/BlazingDragons'', and, most famously, ''WesternAnimation/{{The Adventures of Tintin|1991}}''. Their ''Tintin'' animated series in particular has gone down in the eyes of many as one of the greatest cartoons in the history of both the Canadian and European animation industry.

In 2003, the studio was acquired by the French entertainment conglomerate Media-Participations, which itself already owned the FrancoBelgianComics publishing company Dargaud (famed for ''ComicBook/{{Asterix}}'', ''ComicBook/{{Tintin}}'', and ''ComicBook/LuckyLuke''), and would later acquire Dargaud's longtime rival Dupuis of ''ComicBook/TheSmurfs'' and ''ComicBook/BillyAndBuddy'' fame. Dargaud and Dupuis already had animation studios of their own, established in 1967 and 1959 respectively to produce {{Animated Adaptation}}s of their own properties, such as the 1981 ''WesternAnimation/{{The Smurfs|1981}}'' cartoon (a co-production with Creator/HannaBarbera) and the 1967 movie version of ''WesternAnimation/AsterixTheGaul''. As a result, many of Ellipse's new productions were released in collaboration with and under the Dargaud and Dupuis label, including the 2021 ''WesternAnimation/{{The Smurfs|2021}}'' cartoon, ''WesternAnimation/{{Yakari}}: A Spectacular Journey'', and ''WesternAnimation/TheGarfieldShow''. As you can tell, many of their productions are adaptations of comic books, ranging from popular Franco-Belgian series and American brands like the above-named works to manga like ''Dream Land'' and even African comics like ''Akissi''. They also produced France's very first animated Youtube series, ''Roger and His Humans'' - and yes, it's based on a comic book (on top of also being the first foray into adult animation).

In 2022, Media-Participations decided to consolidate Ellipse, Dargaud Media, and Dupuis Edition & Audiovisual under the Ellipse Animation label. Previously, Ellipse's productions had been released under Dupuis and Dargaud's labels, but the change meant that now Ellipse would be the name that all previous and future animated works from Dargaud and Dupuis would be known under.

Those of you who actually know about their Canadian cartoons should be well aware of the fact that the vast majority of animated series produced in Canada are virtually unheard of, even by most Canadians. The great Canadian public broadcaster Creator/{{CBC}} seems to have some of the worst luck when it comes to this, its animated output being mostly overshadowed by those of Canadian cable networks oriented at children. In fact, some of its shows are so damn obscure that they've become lost media, with most or even all episodes being unavailable anywhere.

Ellipse is easily one of the biggest names in the French animation industry, having quickly made a reputation for itself in the early 1990s due to their work on many critically acclaimed French cartoons, like ''WesternAnimation/TheTroubleWithSophie'' and ''WesternAnimation/PirateFamily''.

A sandbox for series that I, Tropers/MagnusForce, might launch pages for in the future, but don't have any tropes to add to them yet.

All of these shows I've never seen and have only heard of, so tropers who have seen these shows and feel like they can add tropes and launch a work page may freely appropriate these as they wish. Just inform me if you have done so - that way I can know the page has been launched and respond appropriately.

The books have been very successful and been met with quite a bit of praise from critics. Perhaps then it comes as no surprise that they were given an AnimatedAdaptation in 2011, which was produced in Canada - something that is even less surprisingly if you actually know anything about Canadian animation and kids' TV in that country. Specifically, the ''Stella and Sam'' cartoon was done by Radical Sheep Productions (previously known for ''Series/TheBigComfyCouch'' and later to be known for ''WesternAnimation/{{Fangbone}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheBagelAndBeckyShow'', incidentally both also adapted from children's books). It originally aired on [[Creator/FamilyChannel Family Jr.]], running for 2 seasons and 52 episodes. Reruns later popped up in the United States on Sprout (now Creator/UniversalKids) in 2013 and Creator/{{Qubo}} in 2018, as well as Creator/{{CBC}} Kids in Canada (also in 2018).

''Ba Da Bean'' is a Brazilian-American animated PreschoolShow that debuted on Creator/DiscoveryKids Latin America in 2021. The creation of Brazilian animator Pedro Eboli (the mind behind such cartoons as ''WesternAnimation/OlliesPack'', ''WesternAnimation/CupcakeAndDinoGeneralServices'', and ''WesternAnimation/{{Oswaldo}}''), the series is a co-production between Brazil's famed Creator/BirdoStudio (which also did ''Oswaldo'' and ''Cupcake & Dino'') and the Brazilian- American company Chatrone.

One day however, Bean ends up far outside his home in the school's science classroom and finds himself in a bright and colorful world of endless possibilities and unlimited creativity - the school's art classroom! Fascinated by this strange and unfamiliar world, Bean, ever the restless young scientist, is quick to befriends the art classroom's inhabitants and becomes determined to discover everything he can about his new home. And in a world where creativity is not just encouraged, but celebrated, Bean will find that this new environment and its artistic approach to life might be the best thing that could have ever happened to him!

Cyber Group Studios is a French animation studio based in Paris and established on August 11, 2004 (as Cyber Group Animation) by former Euro Disney executives Pierre Sissmann, Dominique Bourse, Billy "Frédéric" Richard, and Olivier Lelardoux, and Cécilia Bossel.

Although a relatively new name on the French animation scene, they've quickly proven themselves to be a forced to be reckoned with in the European animation industry. They've made kids' cartoons for every age range, from {{Preschool Show}}s to tween cartoons, and in many genres, from wacky slapstick comedies to action-adventure shows.

Creator/{{Alphanim}}

[[quoteright:340:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alphanim.png]]

'''Alphanim''' is a French animation studio based in Vincennes (a suburb of Paris) and founded by Christian Davin in 1997. In 2008, the studio was acquired by French film company Creator/{{Gaumont}} to get their foot back into television and WesternAnimation, having previously sold their TV division in 1999 and lost their animation division Gaumont Multimedia after it split off to become Creator/{{Xilam}} that same year. Consequently, Alphanim was renamed '''Gaumont Animation''' in 2013 (do '''NOT''' get them confused with Xilam's old identity).

Whether as Alphanim or Gaumont Animation, the studio has made many contributions to the world of European animation, having created such cartoons as ''WesternAnimation/{{Robotboy}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/DudeThatsMyGhost''. However, they have also been very involved in Canadian and American animation. With the former, they have co-produced many shows with famed Canadian studios like Creator/{{Cinar}}, Creator/{{Nelvana}}, and Creator/MercuryFilmworks on series like ''WesternAnimation/AtomicPuppet'', ''WesternAnimation/DeltaState'', ''WesternAnimation/MonaTheVampire'', the first season of ''WesternAnimation/{{Redwall}}'', and the last season of ''WesternAnimation/{{Franklin}}''. With the latter, they have done work on a few series made for Creator/{{Netflix}}, such as ''WesternAnimation/FIsForFamily'' and ''WesternAnimation/SamuraiRabbitTheUsagiChronicles''.
