That's actually a pretty cruel way to die, but because "stoned" is also slang for bring under the influence of a drug this line may have evoked snickers from more recent generations of Sunday School kids.

# Literature.TheThreeInvestigators: As usual for books written during that era, the word "queer" tends to turn up a lot. There's also an unusual word usage in Crooked Cat where Andy, during his barker spiel, calls Pete a "nimrod". Considering the fact he was about to compete in a shooting gallery, comparing him to a great historical general makes sense, but thanks to Bugs Bunny no one in modern times can take that word seriously any more...and so would likely conclude Andy was mocking Pete. Comparing the publication date of the book to those of Looney Tunes episodes, it's remotely possible this more modern meaning was actually known at the time, and so its usage there intentionally had a double meaning.
# VideoGame.NordAndBertCouldntMakeHeadOrTailOfIt: One of the characters you come across in "Shake a Tower" is a "queer old dean". This is referring to the strange college frat ritual he's undergoing, where a leopard repeatedly shoves him. You turn them into a dear old queen and a loving shepherd.

# YMMV.TheSongOfHiawatha: The introduction describes the poem as a "rude inscription." The somewhat archaic sense that "rude" is used here means "unrefined" or "primitive," not "impolite" or "obscene."

# Characters.QuakeI: "Vore" in modern times refers to a fetish involving being aroused by the thought of being eaten (by other people, animals, monsters, etc). Both the fetish and the monster get their name from the same source: the Latin Vorus (devouring), from which we get words like "carnivore".
# Literature.MuchObligedJeeves: Bertie uses the word "ejaculated" for "exclaimed" more than once. Given that this book was written in 1971 it was almost certainly intentional on the part of Wodehouse. "Good Lord," I ejaculated, if ejaculated is the word I want.
# Literature.AMartianOdyssey: The German is named Putz, which happens to be a vulgar slang word in the US. They also ejaculate frequently—Weinbaum most likely did this intentionally.
# Webcomic.LeagueOfSuperRedundantHeroes: The eponymous League of Super Redundant Heroes. Lazer Pony had registered themselves as the League of Super Heroes, but Keith went out of his way to make fun of them and asked the sadistic legal system to change it. Bad Good Girl, which is Good Girl without her halo. She hates the name, but it's what stuck. Ass-tronomous's chosen alias was Astronomous. Unfortunately for him, Gyrognome started calling him Asstronomous in honor of his buttocks, and the name stuck. Which is also what got Gyrognome kicked off the team. A jovial superhero who was frozen in the '40s, and is being coached to re-adapt to the 21st century. His name? The GAY BASHER! Curiously, he seems quite accepting that he needs to change his identity for linguistic reasons, only asking if he can still throw around his patented "Gaymakers".

# ComicBook.{{Hellblazer}}: "Fags" being British slang for cigarettes, and Constantine being a chain-smoker, lines like "...you'd better go and get yourself three days worth of food and fags" can sound rather odd to American readers. During American Brian Azzarello's first storyline, the double meaning is exploited as Constantine emerges from a shower in prison and claims, "We're all out of fags."

# Film.ThreeAmigos: The bandito in the cantina calls the German "Heinie", a common insulting name for a German man at the time (being short for the common German name Heinrich). In modern English, however, it's a childish word for the buttocks. Made even better when he asks the German to come sit on his lap.
# Literature.TheIdiot: To some extent why every character is so comfortable calling Myshkin an 'idiot'. In those days, while it still did carry its modern meaning, they used it just as often as a clinical term for people with mental disabilities, believed to be related to epilepsy. A heavy dose of Values Dissonance comes in as well, as it would be about the equivalent of calling him a 'retard' which is still quite offensive today.

# YMMV.PaperMario64: On top of the White Magikoopa wearing a white pointed hat and robe, it becomes even more touchy when Goombario describes it in his Tattle as, "one of the magicians in the Koopa clan." Twink's name. While obviously derived from the word twinkle in context (he's a star) it has some hilarious connotations Nintendo probably didn't intend back in the early 2000s.

# Pantheon.ScientistsAndGeniuses: Although his original name is Dr. XXX, he's rarely called that anymore, due to certain connotations. This actually caused some small ruckus when he first ascended since nobody was sure how to call him until it was decided by the Court of the Gods that everybody should just refer to him as 'The Mad Doctor' and that's it. He prefers to be called The Mad Doctor anyway, just don't call him Doc. Of course, this hasn't stopped Bugs Bunny from messing with him by calling him Doc at every chance. Bugs being on good terms with Mickey while also being a rabbit just like Oswald has only increased the doctor's animosity towards him.

# Characters.TheLordOfTheRingsTheElves: Artanis, "noble woman," was her father-name, or the name given to her by her father Finarfin. Nerwen, "man-maiden," was her mother-name, or the name given to her by her mother Eärwen. This was in reference to her unusual tall height and strength for a woman. Alatárielle, "maiden crowned with a radiant garland," was given to her back in Aman by her Telerin lover Teleporno, in reference to her silver-gold hair. Altáriel was the Quenya semi-calque of Alatárielle. The full calque would have been Ñaltáriel, but this was not used as her Quenya form. Galadriel was the Sindarin calque of Alatárielle, after she and her husband went to Middle-earth. Teleporno took the name Celeborn, the Sindarin calque of his own name, presumably to stop everyone from snickering. If your name was Teleporno, you too would want to change it to anything else. Her titles include Lady of the Golden Wood.

# VideoGame.{{Bookworm}}: In general, the game will not allow you to form offensive words, but it will let you use ones that have alternate inoffensive meanings. Playing such words in the Deluxe edition will often cause a speech bubble to pop up where Lex gives you a dictionary definition of the latter. For example, forming the word "fag" has him remind the player of its British slang usage with the simple definition of "A cigarette".

However, the term was not yet widely used in this connotation at the time this film was made, and if it was deliberate, then it is an anachronism as the earliest known use of the term in this context was in 1894, some years after the setting of the film.

Downplayed in that this wouldn't have scandalized her much less in the '20s with the meaning intended than it would now with the current meaning. Pottersville Nick kicking George and Clarence out of his bar, calling them "you two pixies" (which back then was almost certainly meant as slang for hobo or drunk; also, the term 'pixilated' was slang for 'kind of crazy').
