AJCO is a Minecraft-based roleplay server created by the eponymous AJ alongside her friends Celest R and Pythosblaze, and quickly built upon by various friends-of-friends from across the net. Who then brought their friends. Who brought theirs. Who brought - well, you get the idea.

Its genre would be best described as fantasy/sci-fi and, with the introduction of the State, dystopian. The plot tends to be seperated into 'arcs' resembling seasons, with smaller character-driven arcs taking place within their respective factions. * {{Angst}}: ''And wouldn't you know it.'' Worth noting: the server tends to go through ''periods'' of angst, usually because the plight of one character will affect several others. The Castle Mages are both the crowning example and the crowning counter-example, fretting about the consequences of blood magic one week and then snowball fighting the next. They make it work.
* CastFullOfGay: Or it certainly seems that way sometimes.

* FunnyBackgroundEvent: Not usually part of the RP but when one is going on you'll often see '[player] was killed by [death reason]' in the chat. They're obviously ignored and removed from posted chatlogs. Special mention goes to:

* PromotedToScapegoat: After [[spoiler: A_J and the ''last'' person to have the position are presumed dead]], Pythos promotes Breyos to be the Liaison Officer of the Silo. This means that any misbehaviour by the Castle Crew or neutrals will mean ''he'' is punished, and unlike Egg they don't like him at all.
** Fortunately for him, they get to leave before they have a chance to cause him any trouble.
* {{Room 101}}: AJCO's Friendship Chambers, and Pi-TEC's Re-Education Suites. They use different tactics, but they're both places you don't want to end up in.
* TheEvilsOfFreeWill: Linked to UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans below, the State runs on this trope and therefore so does AJCO. A_J believes in it rather more than most, and tries to rectify 'non-compliancy' with "Friendship".
* TortureTechnician: While A_J herself does enjoy carrying out most of the torture, this role often falls to whoever her second in command is at the time - usually it's Pythos, though during her absence the role was taken over by Breyos (which she wasn't too happy to find out when she got back).
* UnwittingTestSubject: Most characters find themselves in this predicament at one point or another.
* UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans: The State and the country A_J and Pythos grew up in, being a combination of various totalitarian regimes across history.

!!FAIR-CO
* {{Clerk}}: One of the major cliques within the faction. Their leader, C_C, is Fairfax's right-hand man.
* DumbMuscle: The AGRI-FAC workers are largely this, which puts them at odds with the Clerks and the Unwards.
* FluffyTheTerrible: Fairfax's dogs - vicious dobermans that terrify the hell out of almost everyone in the facility - have names like "Princess" and "Missy".
* GasMaskMooks: The Breather clique, though unlike most examples the masks have a function. Namely, to stop the person wearing it from ''dying''.
* RightHandAttackDog: The aforementioned dobermans. However, they won't attack if you aren't scared of them, and can in fact be quite playful.
* VastBureaucracy: The facility functions as one, run by the Clerks. To a lesser extent the State itself qualifies as one too.

!!Castle Crew
* ALighterShadeOfGrey: When analysed individually they're not much better than AJCO at all - several of their members are outright murderers - but they still qualify as this since several ''other'' members (notably Blue and formerly Egg) are the least evil characters on the whole server.
* BadassCrew: Asides from the obvious fact that they are a crew, each and every one of them is capable of having moments of utter badassery. Whether it be something as dramatic as taking a stand against AJCO/Pi-TEC, summoning a demon (and surviving), being a master of the arcane, being a BadassPacifist or at times simply ''being alive'' after all that's happened. They're quite a force to be reckoned with.
* BigFancyCastle: Nights and her crew always build and reside in one of these, the most recent being [=Ravenhold Castle=]
* BlindObedience: Despite not being the most tight-knit group of people and despite having very different goals, they all remain loyal to one another no matter what - even when it seems completely unreasonable.
** Somewhat questionable in the case of Krauzer and his loyalty to Nights, both before and during the Silo Week. [[spoiler:He even tried to get himself elected new Crew leader. At the same time Will was also trying to take the same role, but his loyalty is less in question]].
* CommLinks: Since the Crew's creation Nights has always kept them well-connected with earpieces and headsets, usually far too small to be of any bother but just large enough to be noticeable. They are occasionally helpful for other things, such as recording a conversation or alerting others of the fact that one of their own has been captured.
* ConfusionFu: They're a disorganised bunch of mages, all wielding different types of magic and unable to decide which is the most efficient. When up against the highly structured but magically inept AJCO they may be able to use this to their advantage.
* DeadlyGas: Ravenhold Castle has been plagued by gas both in character and out.
* DeniedFoodAsPunishment: After threatening her and the rest of the crew, Nights locked Krauzer in his room and gives him a limited supply of water and no food for three days. It's up there among the darker things she's done, though the other mages used magic to sneak food to him.
* ElaborateUndergroundBase: The Crew briefly inhabited a naturally-occurring dungeon that served as one of these while they constructed Ravenhold.
* FireForgedFriends: Debatable, given that the first Crew came together after leaving AJCO and the addition of new members has led to some conflicts of interest at times. The one thing they share though is that they dislike A_J and she dislikes them!
* FloatingCastle: The second castle build by the Castle Crew was one of these.
* HonorBeforeReason: The Crew have a tendency to attempt to rescue or help anyone in need (even A_J), whether or not that is in their best interest or the party in question wants help.
* MagicMisfire: The Castle Mages are a walking example. It would be easier to count the number of times their magic worked the way it was intended than the times it didn't!
* OhCrap: The [[spoiler: deceased]] bandit Mercy had a moment like this when he realised that he happened to have blundered into [[spoiler: Kaja, an angel, and one of the few beings capable of exorcising him from Egg's body without harming her]]. He eventually accepted his fate.

* CherryBlossom: Have been a defining feature of it ever since it was first created, never mind the fact that it is a ''water village''.
* CloseKnitCommunity: Seven people live in Katton presently - Kaja, its mayor, Crez, Lorelei Vinnie, Kube, Egg, and Cain. They get along rather well.
* CrushBlush: Egg normally just stammers due to being even more nervous than usual, but has been known to go red when around [[InterspeciesRomance Kube]].

* EvilVersusEvil: During the Deserter arc, which was pretty much Deserters vs AJCO vs the State, the Deserters were certainly ALighterShadeOfGrey, but ''none'' of them were as 'good' as Katton or the Crew, the rivals from previous arcs.
* MuseumOfTheStrangeAndUnusual: Breyos was constructing one before all of the nuclear missile shenanigans. It had a giant open skull for a door. [[spoiler: He was planning on having Holar's withered skeleton as the first exhibit.]]
* PornStash: Vinnie and Kube's reading material is somehow making its rounds around the server. Its content is fanservice for them, {{Squick}} for everyone else - it basically describes two cactus people making out while surrounded by bees (who do the...work).
* WackyFratboyHijinks: What Kube and Vinnie were indulging in when they stole a spaceship and took it for a joyride across the universe, eventually crashing it on a planet so far away from their home it hadn't even been discovered by the Inter-Galactic Federation yet.
