* DartboardOfHate: To motivate Harold into punching the right way, Duncan sets up a punching bag that not only has a crude drawing of himself on it, but which he also stands behind to measure the blows. Harold starts out giving it barely any genuine effort, so Duncan takes it up a notch by agitating him. Nothing works until Duncan lies that he kissed Leshawna. Upon hearing that, Harold punches straight through the punching bag to strangle the real Duncan.

* ScaryStingingSwarm: As Harold's trainer, Duncan comes up with a reflex exercise. A swarm of bees is trapped underneath a cloche and once the cloche is lifted Harold has to pick at the bees one by one with chopsticks. Thing is, Duncan fails to warn Harold of any part of the exercise and makes it seem like he's offering him a good meal. As soon as the cloche is lifted, Harold gets swarmed by the ticked-off bees.

* KnifeFight: Beth and Courtney are sent to the kitchen and left with a multitude of knives. Both girls think they are supposed to engage in a knife fight. Beth reasons out loud that she's willing to give it a try solely because Courtney is her opponent. Not one to take insults lightly, Courtney retorts that Beth shouldn't pick fights she can't win. Finally, Chef returns to explain that the knives are to prepare dinner.

* EverybodyWasKungFuFightingBlatantLies: Owen has two examples in this episode:
** When coming up with a reason as to why he can't be compete in the challenge, Chris says he went skateboarding (though he later says he went out to get a burger, which is also a lie).
** When asked as to how he's climbing up the cliff so quickly, he says its because of his Geisha shoes, when really he's being controlled by Chris via a crane on top of the cliff.

* {{Geisha}}: Owen becomes one in this episode, when he's 'guiding' the teams (really sabotaging them for Chris).
* GroinAttack: Harold receives one during the robot suit part of the challenge, leading Duncan to proclaim ThisMeansWar on Courtney and ''annihilating'' Beth in her suit.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Duncan gets knocked out cold by Harold after he insults Leshawna.

* TaughtByExperience: Courtney desperately needs an alliance to stay in the game, but Beth says in the confessional that she's learned from her experiences with Heather and Justin when someone is only trying to be her friend for their own benefit. She proceeds to milk it by getting Courtney to handle the grunt work for Chef in exchange for lounging and enjoying Courtney's perks.
