** Then the camera pans down to see Rabbit sitting nearby, gazing off into the sunset waiting for Kessie to come home. He still has the carrot she left him.

* BookEnds: The episode begins in the winter as Rabbit saves Kessie, and ends at the next winter as Kessie leaves him.

* HeroicBSOD: Rabbit suffers one of these after he realizes Kessie learnt to fly and she's about to leave him. That snowy night he sits sadly with a deep gloomy look on his face nearby the fireplace holding Kessie's stuffed bunny. When Kessie tries to cheer him up by asking him to read her one last bedtime story, Rabbit, quietly goes in his bedroom saying in a monotone tone that "You don't need me to read you a bedtime story. You don't need me for anything."

Adult Fear is now a disambig

* AdultFear:
** Rabbit goes through this when Kessie gets into danger and he nearly loses her. Kessie [[DisneyDeath falls into a ravine]] because she [[TakeMyHand slips out of Rabbit's hand in a failed rescue attempt]], and she can't save herself because Rabbit hasn't allowed her to learn to fly. Just to twist the knife even more, her fall makes Rabbit realize [[NeverGotToSayGoodbye he never told her he loved her]]. Granted, [[spoiler: Owl rescues her and she doesn't die]], but that is some ''intense'' Adult Fear.
** To a lesser extent, Rabbit is in denial that Kessie is growing up. He rescued a baby bird from a storm that is like a daughter to him and thinks everything is okay as long as she stays inside and never tries to leave. The reality check hits hard when he realizes Kessie can and will fly, and that it would be wrong to keep her locked up. EmptyNest is a hard burden to bear.
