Bykov wants to learn Phil's weaknesses, which he can exploit. He sends Kupitman to learn more about him. Kupitman, in attempts to learn more about Phil, pretends to be maximally weird (always in perverted way), hoping that it would make Phil more comfortable to reveal his own dirty secrets; it doesn't, as Kupitman's behaviour just squicks him out. Ultimately, Kupitman gives up and just asks him directly, and Phil reveals that he has two fathers.

Varya finally appears in the hospital... and she is wasted. And she intends to continue drinking, because she can't forget Gleb. Now Lyuba must hide her from Bykov... and replace her for a day, otherwise he would find out. But she fails to cover her tracks and Bykov learns anyway. Lyuba wasted his time in attempts to cover for Varya, but then Varya herself appears and tells him the truth, since she is tired of lying. Bykov is so shocked, he doesn't even know what to do with them.

Semyon must make Irina forgive him, and he needs Gleb's help. Gleb has an idea: he would pretend to harass Irina, and Semyon would "save" her, winning her respect. Unfortunately, after their first attempt she learns from Kisegach that Gleb is Semyon's friend, and realises that this is their scheme.

Unfortunately for Kupitman, Phil feels nothing to be ashamed of, so it's of no use for Bykov, and Kupitman must find something else. But Kupitman learns that while Phil loves his parents, he still faced horrible abuse in the past from homophobic peers (and even one principal), which forced him to changing schools on regular basis. And now Bykov tries to start it all over again. Kupitman decides to withhold that information from Bykov (who now thinks that it doesn't work), knowing that he would just continue that abuse, even if it means losing the bet.
