* VillainBall: When Lucifer pulls Sam into the cage, the latter finds faith in the idea that this is all part of God's plan, stating that he should probably go along with it. That was not an angel blade, it was just a regular, run-of-the-mill dagger.

* HoYay: Lucifer seems especially... ''touchy-feely'' in Sam's first vision of the episode, seeing as Luci ''caresses Sam's face and smiles at him serenely.'' Then there's their actual interactions, whereupon the Angel of Light drops enough seemingly-flirty remarks to fill a crater (the wording used when asking Sam to become his vessel, "bunk-mate," "roomie," and [[spoiler: asking if Sam wants the top, bottom, or to ''share a bunk'' while inside The Cage]]).

Amara unleashes her power on the local townspeople as she issues a shocking challenge. Dean tries to better understand the hold Amara has on him, while Sam and Crowley come up with a plan that could have disastrous consequences.

!!Tropes
* AnOfferYouCantRefuse: Lucifer wants Sam to become his vessel again so that he may fight the Darkness. He pulls Sam into the cage with him and tells him they'll be bunk-mates all over again if he refuses.
* BatmanGambit: It was really Lucifer and not God who gave Sam visions of the cage, knowing it would make Sam desperate enough to find a way to speak to him directly.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Amara claims not to be evil or want to destroy God's creations, yet she still thinks it's right to consume souls and kill innocent people to make God notice her.
* BoltOfDivineRetribution: The episode ends with the host of heaven doing this to Amara, with no indication on whether or not it will harm her or be a NoSell.
* ManySpiritsInsideOfOne: Amara says the souls she consumes are not destroyed and are a part of her, and tells Dean that to become one with her is to experience bliss.
* PrayerIsALastResort: Amara goes into a church and tries this because nothing else she tries seems to be getting God's attention. It works as well as all her other attempts.
* ProfessionalButtKisser: Crowley briefly tries this when confronting Lucifer in the cage. Lu' doesn't buy it for a second.
