* WritersCannotDoMath: Initially, only two 212th Battalion Clone Troopers (aside from Cody) are part of the rescue team. As one of them is killed by electrocution, there should be only one left, right? Apparently not, as starting from the very next scene, there is suddenly a third Trooper with the team.

* OffModel: When Ahsoka asks Master Plo if she can talk to him before the strike team departs, her Padawan braid is missing in a shot of her from behind.

* AirVentPassageway: Subverted and lampshaded by Ahsoka. With the entry point the Jedi wanted to use blocked, Anakin and Obi-Wan debate how to get in, and Ahsoka points out the ventilation hatch. Anakin brushes this idea off — it had already come up in planning and been dismissed because no one on the team is small enough to squeeze through the vent — but Ahsoka, who stowed away to join the mission, is small enough to make it, barely.

* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: When he is told about the carbon-freezing that will get them part the life-form detectors, Captain Rex makes the comment that he doesn't want to "end up a wall decoration."

** Anakin's uncharacteristic overprotectiveness towards Ahsoka isn't all that surprising once you remember what happened to her in "[[Recap/StarWarsTheCloneWarsS3E16AltarOfMortis Altar of Mortis]]" two episodes earlier, and to a lesser extent, "[[Recap/StarWarsTheCloneWarsS3E10HeroesOnBothSides going to Raxxus with Padme to set up an illegal peace plan with the Seps to deprive the Republic of more clones to win the war]]".

* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike: Tarkin is not happy with his rescuers' tactical decisions, because he isn't a big fan of how the Jedi are conducting the war in general.

* FromNobodyToNightmare: Tarkin is still just a simple Navy Captain here. [[Film/ANewHope Flash forward 20 years]], and he's the commander of the Death Star, and destroyer of Alderaan.

** After Echo got new Phase II armour for being promoted to ARC trooper, he painted Rex's handprint on it, which Rex put on his original, "shiny" armor using a Rishi eel's blood, way back in [[Recap/StarWarsTheCloneWarsS1E5Rookies "Rookies"]]. Similarly, Fives has painted a stylized Rishi eel on his own helmet, as a reminder of their teammate Cutup, who was eaten by one of the eels.

* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: One clone falls while scaling a cliff, and detonates an electro-mine. Another is killed by an electrified wall trap.

* AscendedExtra: Even Piell, who had no spoken lines in the two [[Film/ThePhantomMenace Prequel]] [[Film/AttackOfTheClones Trilogy]] films he appeared in, receives a fleshed out expanded role in this episode (along with the storyline it is part of). Captain Tarkin might also count.

* EyeScream: Master Piell already lost his left eye prior to ''Film/ThePhantomMenace'', and after the ElectricTorture fails, the droid attempts to gouge out his other with a needle in its hand. It's millimetres away from doing so when the rescue team arrives.
