* AdultFear: You're in charge of about twenty students, and suddenly most of them disappear in an unfamiliar place. Ms. Skullnick gets really angry at Star, even though [[NeverMyFault she predicted]] [[IWarnedYou it would happen]].

* RealityEnsues: Turns out taking a bunch of kids to another dimension and letting them go wild isn't the best of ideas.

* ForeShadowing: Miss Skullnick learns that trolls live on average for 400 years. In "Monster Bash", [[spoiler: Miss Heinous is revealed to be the daughter of Eclipsa and her monster lover, whose real name is ''Meteora Butterfly'', making her hundreds of years old.]]

* TooDumbToLive: At least a few kids put themselves in mortal peril for no other reason than sheer stupidity, like Francis jumping into a black hole clearly marked with signs indicating danger and [[DumbJock Justin]] trying to poke an ominous-looking electrified device.

* CursedWithAwesome: Ms. Skullnick learns that her transformation is far more advantageous then she originally thought, including super-strength and a life expectancy of 400 years.
* EldritchLocation: The dimension Star takes her class to, which is basically a massive extra-dimensional MuseumOfTheStrangeAndUnusual.
* GoneHorriblyRight: Ms. Skullnick waiting for Star in command to mess up. It ends up with a String Monster kidnapping most of the students.

* AllClothesUnravel: The String Monster is defeated this way. Miss Skullnick ties the tip of a thread to a large paper clip, and then fastens it to "The Universe's Most Immovable Post". As the school bus flees with the monster in hot pursuit, it unravels itself completely.

* ChekhovsGun: Ms. Skullnick uses the paperclip she had in her pocket to trick the String Monster into unravelling itself.

* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: The troll display tells Skullnick that she has a lot of muscles, and gets to be "a teenager" again. This gives her a new lease on life.

* ContinuityNod: Way back in "[[Recap/StarVsTheForcesOfEvilS1E4SchoolSpirit School Spirit]]", Miss Skullnick told Star her favorite weapon was the battle ax. In this episode, she uses a battle ax when fighting the String Monster.
