'''Postman Pat's Finding Day''' is the first episode of ''WesternAnimation/PostmanPat''. It premiered on 16 September 1981.

It's Tom and Katy Pottage's birthday, but Katy is sad because her doll, Sarah-Ann, has gone missing. Pat agrees to find her, and ends up on a scavenger hunt all over town.

!!Tropes:
* AffectionateGestureToTheHead: Pat pets Katy's head after he returns home with Sarah-Ann.
* BirthdayEpisode: The episode takes place on the Pottage twins' birthday.
* DiegeticSoundtrackUsage: This episode establishes Pat's VerbalTic of humming his own theme song.
* EpicFail: While looking for Sarah-Ann in Ted's workshop, Pat only looks by some wood planks, and knocks them over onto himself.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment:
** Pat arrives bright and early, eager to deliver the day's post, establishing him as the NiceGuy UnstoppableMailman he's known to be.
** Bill Thompson takes the post to the headmaster's office, but drops one of the letters in a puddle, showing that while he's the oldest schoolboy and most responsible, he's still just a child.
* GirlsLoveChocolate: Pat considers picking up some chocolates for Katy as condolences for being unable to find Sarah-Ann. Immediately as he picks up the chocolate box, he finds Sarah-Ann tucked behind it.
* LostToyGrievance: The conflict kicks in when it's explained that Katy has lost her favourite doll, hence why she's sad on her birthday.
