In the office of a JC Jenson facility on Copper 9, Subject#029 is hiding inside a cubicle. Taking a cautious peek out from her hiding spot, she spots a coworker lying on the ground, her visor displaying a loading wheel. As she crawls into the open to retrieve her, a clawed metal foot descends into frame. She retreats back to her hiding spot as two creatures resembling mechanical velociraptors tear her coworker's body in half, before she herself is spotted, stunned, and killed..

The scene cuts back to last episode's cliffhanger, with Uzi, N, and V confronting Tessa, J, and Doll. As Tessa happily greets N, Uzi demands to know why she and J, who had back-up clones of herself, are back on the planet. Tessa explains that Cyn disappeared from Earth some time after the Gala incident, but not before unleashing the Disassembly Drones onto human-occupied planets. Her primary mission on Copper 9 is to uncover the reason behind Cyn's actions. Suddenly, Doll steals the keybug with her solver powers and makes a break for it.

The others pursue Doll to a large industrial facility, where she disappears into the darkness of a deep hole blown in the tarmac. Tessa signals J to relay the orders Cyn gave the Disassembly Drones, revealing that it was her who ordered the Disassembly Drones to attack Copper 9, construct the spire of corpses, and enter any labs on the planet where the Absolute Solver was being studied. Tessa intends to burn the labs to a cinder and tells J to wait for her at the ship. As J reluctantly complies, Uzi demands to know why Tessa involved Doll in her plan. Tessa explains that Doll thinks the humans of Copper 9 infected her mother Yeva with the Absolute Solver down in the Cabin Fever labs, something she was probably right about.

N, V, Uzi, and Tessa enter the facility and begin searching for the elevator to the labs. They come across the wrecks of dozens of Disassembly Drones strewn across the lobby, having fallen victim to the facility's security system. Tessa attempts to deactivate the security, but the system refuses her credentials. Despite the obvious danger, the drones are undeterred, and the group proceed further into the facility, only for Tessa's ankle to be snagged by a rope trap and dragged away down the hall.

As they search for Tessa, the drones run into a suspicious worker drone baby lying out in the open, laughing joyously. Dismissing it as an obvious trap, N opens fire, only for the "baby" to sprout disassembly drone limbs and scuttle away into the pipework. Someone behind them tosses another disassembly drone limb attached to a cable at the group, and they turn to see Alice, a crazed worker drone with a southern accent, who greets them and activates an EMP from the disembodied disassembly drone limb, knocking the three of them unconscious.

Uzi reboots to find herself strapped to a bed as Alice hacks apart the body of Subject 029. Acknowledging her, Alice reveals she's also captured V. Magnets attached to both her and Uzi's heads act as a sort of robot sedative, preventing them from escaping. As Alice prepares to strip V for parts, Uzi warns her that killing V will just result in the Disassembly Drone transforming into an Eldritch solver form. Alice laughs, and shows Uzi a collection of Disassembly cores trapped in glass jars inside an oven, kept dormant by the heat. Uzi attempts to use her solver powers to break free, but finds the magnet prevents her from using them. As Alice puts a blade to Uzi's throat, she recognizes Uzi's choker as having belonged to Nori, who, according to Alice, left the lab's occupants to die.

N and Tessa are trapped in a separate room and left to the ministrations of Alice's minion Beau, the "infant" worker drone seen earlier. Tessa warns him that he'll get "red and sad" if he tries to cut her up, but Beau ignores her and continues hacking apart N, who, in typical fashion, is giving Beau encouragement even as the drone is attempting to vivisect him. Before Beau can finish the job, Alice's voice comes across the radio calling for more magnets to keep Uzi restrained. As Beau leaves, he inadvertently shows Tessa the code to the door's lock, allowing her to break herself and N free.

Uzi, now restrained by three magnets, attempts to get answers about her mom. Alice mentions that Nori killed a large number of people before pinning Uzi's hand to the table with a kitchen knife and severing one of her fingers using a bolt cutter. Beau returns to N and Tessa's room, only to find them escaped, and N watches from a cubicle as Beau scurries back to warn his mistress. Tessa promises they'll save V, to which N assures "and Uzi", before showing N the screen of the computer she was working at.

Alice, noting that N and Tessa are trapped in the office, seals the doors to her own room while opening another, releasing the Anti-Drones Sentinels. These specialized machines use a blinding flash to put drones--Worker or Disassembly--into a boot loop, stunning them and making them easy targets. As Alice settles into her seat to watch the chaos unfold on a CCTV monitor, the sentinels converge on N and Tessa's position.

N watches in shock at a live satellite feed of Earth, with the entire planet fragmented and a singularity reminiscent of the Solver where its core should be. Tessa explains that, after the loss of Earth, the humans of Copper 9 attempted to study and harness the Solver. Their attempts, however, only succeeded in spreading it to new hosts. Realizing the implication, N asks Tessa if she can fix Uzi. Tessa responds that she came to Copper 9 to find the list of infected drones, and suggests N to choose the fate of the universe over Uzi, warning that Uzi will, before long, become entirely possessed by the Solver.

Before N can formulate a response, a Sentinel catches him with a stun flash, sending him into a boot loop. Tessa tries to invoke the Second Law of Robotics to command the Sentinel to stand down, but her space suit prevents it from recognizing her as human, and the machine bites her hand, drawing blood. Upon seeing the blood and realizing it violated the First Law, the Sentinel experiences a LogicBomb, and violently slams its head against the wall, seemingly deactivating itself. Before Tessa can catch her breath, however, other sentinels arrive, also mistaking her for a drone.

In her control room, Alice watches the dramatic scene unfold as a morbid form of entertainment, while Uzi attempts to use her Absolute Solver powers. Alice turns to find Uzi, now under the Solver's control, use her newfound power to destroy the door controls, releasing the locks to the operating rooms. Alice attempts to barricade against the Sentinels, but is stunned by them and killed. Beau, realizing the situation, frees V from her restraints before he is killed as well. V tries to free Uzi in turn, but finds herself cornered by the Sentinels. Just as they are about to stun her, Uzi's hand twitches. V looks up to see the Sentinels reduced to liquid metal and a grotesque hole in the wall where the door once was.

V reunites with N and Tessa, carrying the unconscious Uzi. Tessa offers to help, but V presses a blade to her throat, insisting that they are taking Uzi to safety. N begins to intervene, but Tessa calmly reassures him that it's alright; she hasn't yet shared the full truth with V. Curious and cautious, V asks N what Tessa revealed to him. Their conversation is interrupted when Uzi stirs and, upon seeing N, rushes up to embrace him warmly.

The previously deactivated sentinel reboots, its once-blue eye-lights now a sinister red, and returns to the hunt. Tessa, Uzi, V, and N watch it from a catwalk, and V takes aim with her gun, only for it to be drawn away by one of its comrades. The group cautiously follows to find Doll right in front of the elevator shaft, stuck in a remarkably convenient boot loop. Sensing a trap, Uzi begins to unleash her Solver powers, but is stopped by both N and V. Unfortunately, Tessa walks directly into the ambush. Doll leaps up from her stunned state and opens the door for several before descending into the shaft and blocking the way behind her with the elevator cab.

Tessa waves her still bleeding hand at the Sentinels, causing them to hesitate, however the red-eyed sentinel is unfazed and charges. Uzi, frantically attempts to use the solver to break through into the elevator as the red sentinel repurposes a severed disassembly drone arm as a makeshift gun and fires it at Tessa. V intervenes in the nick of time, catching the bullet mid-flight, and puts on her old glasses, which protect her from the Sentinels' stunning flash.

In the chaos, Uzi starts losing control of her Solver power. Before she can be overtaken by the Solver, N severs her hand, terminating the power surge, and allowing the group to proceed into the elevator. N calls for V to follow them, but just before she can finish off the red Sentinel, its companions arrive as backup and shatter her protective eyewear. With the elevator jammed and the Sentinels closing in, V's expression turns solemn. As the Sentinels surround her, and N cries out in desperation that they need her, V proclaims that she trusts Uzi, severs the elevator cables, and gives her friends a final, heartfelt salute as the Sentinels lunge at her.
