* AdaptedOut: While in the Dothraki Sea with Drogon, Daenerys suffers from dysentery and her period at the same time. Thankfully that's been omitted.

* OhCrap: Stannis's forces when they see that the Bolton army outnumbers them ''and'' has many cavalry. Stannis himself is as stoic as ever and rallies them to fight.

* WhamEpisode: ...let's count the ways. Stannis fights his battle and loses, with Brienne finally avenging Renly. Theon breaks his Reek persona, kills Myranda, and escapes Winterfell with Sansa. Tyron is placed in charge of Mereen, and Varys finally returns. Dany is captured by the Dothraki. Arya finally kills Ser Meryn Trant, but disappoints a man and thus goes blind. * CliffHanger: This episode was an avalanche of CliffHanger. With the exception of Cersei's Sam's and to a lesser extent, the Meereen's , all other storyline ended in one:

** Daenerys was shown surrouned by a khalasar, possibly her own. Scene changed, no conclusion.

* RealityEnsues: Unfortunately for Stannis, it turns out that soldiers won't follow a man who would burn his own daughter to death for his ambition. Stannis's men desert en masse, leaving the remnant easy pickings for the Boltons.

* KillEmAll: This episode has an insane body count, even for Game of Thrones. See CharacterDeath above.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Mellisandre is devastated when she realizes that sacrificing Shireen doomed Stannis's cause. When she shows up at the Wall, she can barely say anything to Jon and Davos.

* TooHappyToLast: Myrcella's poisoning symptoms set in immediately after she acknowledges Jaime as her father and embraces him lovingly.

* MissedHimByThisMuch: Brienne stops watching Winterfell ''right'' before Sansa lights her distress beacon.
