NoPlotNoProblem At least for the first two tournaments.

In the third tournament, however, while preparing for participating in the arena, Mash discusses about the glorious sight of the gathering of heroes. But... something is off. Why does Mash look nothing like she used to (short, purple-pinkish hair) but instead looking like the gloomy lovestruck light-haired valkyrie Brynhild?

As the tournament went on to reach its climax, Brynhild took the Master of Chaldea to the control room, intending to do her old job as the reaper of souls of brave heroes that died gloriously in combat, just like in this grand tournament. Her plan was interrupted when Zhuge Liang, Da Vinci and Scathach intervened, revealing that Brynhild's core has been modified by someone else to initiate this plan that could end up causing a new Singularity at worst, or the death of the Master at best. And to stop that, they have to defeat Brynhild. They are not alone, however. [[Anime/FatePrototype Servants familiar to Brynhild's original Holy Grail War, including Arthur Pendragon, Arash, Ozymandias, Paracelsus von Hohenheim, Hassan of Serenity and Jekyll & Hyde]] all came to help snap Brynhild back to her senses.

When all was good and done, Brynhild was sent back to the sick bay for recovery and Nero's tournament proceeded as normally. Two shady people were discussing on the events... the masterminds, James Moriarty and Amakusa Shiro Tokisada. Obsessed with trying to get a Grail, Amakusa gained the help of Moriarty to instigate this event at cost of Brynhild's psyche so the Grail would materialize out of the new Singularity that would be created from the chaos. Alas, the plan failed. As Amakusa made his exit, turned out it was because he knew that the detective was coming. Holmes managed to make Moriarty confess about being one of the masterminds of the plan and as Moriarty also tried to make his escape, [[CrackOhMyBack his old body failed him]], allowing Holmes to catch up to him and restrain him to be punished for his actions. [[KarmaHoudini Nobody ever heard about how they caught Amakusa, however.]]
