At a gas station, Ed makes several phone calls to bargain with the Gerhardts for Dodd's freedom. All seem uninterested. He finally comes to an agreement with Milligan and prepare to meet at a motel in Sioux Falls the following morning. Dodd however gets loose, incapacitates Peggy, and hangs Ed upon arrival. Peggy knocks Dodd unconscious in time to save Ed.

A manhunt for Hanzee is organized after he shoots five individuals at a bar. He finds Constance (Elizabeth Marvel) in her hotel room at the seminar, and forces her to lure Peggy to reveal her general whereabouts, to no avail. Hanzee strangles Constance thereafter. A gas station attendant calls the police after he recognizes Hanzee in his shop. Hanzee finds the cabin and holds Ed and Peggy at gunpoint and asks for a haircut from Peggy before shooting Dodd in the head. Lou and Hank burst through the rear door and exchange gunfire with Hanzee as Peggy stabs him in the back with the scissors. Hanzee flees out the front door.

his car and hide out in a relative's hunting cabin in South Dakota. Hanzee is pursuing the Blumquists.

On the basement steps, Peggy hallucinates a conversation between her and a therapist before Ed returns home [[Recap/FargoS02E06Rhinoceros after escaping police custody]]. He tells her to pack and throws an unconscious Dodd Gerhardt in the trunk of one of the cars parked outside. They speed off right before law enforcements arrive and search the house. Lou looks around a little bit before calling an ambulance to take care of Hank’s head injury, and Hanzee arrives at the house, finds the address for the Life Spring seminar, and heads out.

Ed recalls his uncle’s abandoned hunting cabin not too far away and they decide to hide out there for the time being. Dodd is tied to a chair and post inside and tries intimidating Ed, who’s unfazed. He goes into town and calls the Gerhardts over a payphone, informing him that he has Dodd. He’s asked to give a message and decides just to call back later.

Back at the cabin, Peggy stabs Dodd on both sides of the chest so that he’ll stop being rude. She feeds him beans before Ed gets back and asks her not to torture him. Hanzee, meanwhile, stops by a bar, where he’s given hostile service because of his race. He leaves, and some patrons follow him back to his truck to harass him. He decides to shoot them and go back inside to finish off the bartender. Police arrive, and Hanzee shoots them as well, leaving the scene.

Dodd, meanwhile, asks if he can be granted bathroom privileges, so Ed holds a tea kettle up to his crotch and allows him to go. Constance, meanwhile, prepares for Peggy’s arrival at Life Spring, only to receive Hanzee instead. Ed tries calling the Gerhardts again, but nobody picks up, so he walks into the shop to get some snacks.

Peggy calls Constance from the cabin, and Hanzee holds the phone up to her ear to try and get Peggy’s location out of her. She ends up hanging up before giving anything away, leaving Hanzee dissatisfied.

The next morning, Ed leaves to try the phone again, and Peggy finds herself too enthralled in a movie to notice Dodd loosen himself from his constraints. Once again, the Gerhardts show no interest in taking back Dodd, so Ed calls the hotel that a newspaper article states might be holding Kansas City mobster Mike Milligan. Mike receives Ed’s call and agrees to take Dodd off his hands.

Ed leaves the gas station right as Hanzee arrives. Hanzee goes to the register to ask if the clerk can help him find a heavier-set redheaded man, and deduces that he’s met Ed based on his nervous reaction. Hanzee leaves, and the clerk, realizing that Hanzee has made the front-page due to an ensuing manhunt, calls the authorities.

Ed returns home and finds the cabin empty. Dodd gets the jump on him from behind and straddles a noose around his neck via one of the wooden beams of the cabin. As Ed hangs, Peggy regains consciousness and stabs his foot into the floor. While he struggles to get it free, she whacks him with a frying pan and cuts Ed’s noose. Hanzee spies the car Ed stole parked outside and enters the building. He asks Peggy for a haircut, and Dodd berates him on the floor for not just shooting his two captors and taking him to a hospital. Hanzee shoots Dodd in the head and asks again for a haircut, so Peggy fetches the scissors to do the job.

-->'''Peggy:''' Professional, you said?
-->'''Hanzee:''' Yeah. Tired of this life.

As she begins cutting, Ed spies Lou and Hank outside, and Hanzee shoots at them through the window. Peggy stabs him in the neck from behind, and Hanzee, realizing he’s out of ammo, runs from the house right as Lou and Hank finally hold the criminal couple at gunpoint.

* HeManWomanHater: Dodd has, shall we say, 'traditional' views about the roles of men and women. He believes that men should be in charge, and that being a man means being aggressive while never showing weakness. He believes that a woman's role is to serve a man. In "Loplop" he opines that the devil is a woman.

!!Tropes:
* AmbiguousSituation: Whatever Hanzee does to Constance is not shown on screen. It's revealed in the next episode that she was indeed killed.
* AssholeVictim: Dodd Gerhardt, as well as the four people Hanzee killed at the bar.
* BlatantLies: When Ed comes home to find Dodd tied to a chair in his basement, Dodd claims he's just a concerned citizen who heard Peggy losing her mind and stopped by to help. Of course, [[SanitySlippage not all of that might be a lie...]]
* BondVillainStupidity: As mentioned below, Dodd comments on Peggy crawling towards him with a knife instead of just killing her while Ed is indisposed.
* BoomHeadshot: How Dodd goes.
* BullyingTheDragon: Dodd mocks Hanzee as a "half-breed" and "mongrel", which leads to Hanzee shooting Dodd in the head.
* CharacterDeath: Dodd and Constance (though the latter is not shown).
* CharacterDevelopment: A hallucination of her motivational speaker after taking out Dodd makes Peggy "fully actualised". From then on, she's is considerably more decisive, brave, and violent, as well as supportive and loving to Ed.
* DeathByRacism: The men at the bar who Hanzee only decided to kill due to their insistence to heckle him. Later on, Dodd throws some slurs at him before Hanzee decides to shoot him in the head.
-->'''Dodd:''' Son, you got yourself a woman problem. How I know is they've been plaguing me my whole life. What's the joke? Can't live with them, can't turn them into cat food. Personally, I don't see the value in all that talking and the mood swings and the lack of rational thinking, which, brother, your bitch has got that in spades. See, the male of the species has got the potential for greatness. Look at your kings of old. Napoleon, Kublai Khan, Samson. Giants made of muscle and steel. But these women, even in those Bible movies, you see a Delilah and, uh, Scheherazade. I want to tell you my own private belief here. I think Satan is a woman. Think about it.
* HypocriticalHumor: Dodd complains to Ed that women lack the ability to think rationally. All the while he's engaging in some major BondVillainStupidity by not either getting the hell out of there or finishing off Peggy.
* KilledOffscreen: Constance through an AmbiguousSituation resolved in the next episode.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Two of Dodd's most glaring character flaws are his contempt for women and his tendency to treat his own men like garbage. The former results in his costly decision to take Peggy Blumquist lightly, and the latter results in Hanzee putting a bullet in his brain.
* LowerDeckEpisode: Despite Jesse Plemons and Creator/KirstenDunst having top billing, and Jeffrey Donovan as Dodd being a FakeGuestStar up until this point, "Loplop" focuses almost entirely on the Blumquists' struggle to contain Dodd during the events of "Did You Do This? No, You Did It!" while Hanzee searches for them. The only part to take place after the previous episode is the very end, where Hank and Lou show up.
* MadeOfIron: Dodd proves himself to be ''extremely'' durable over the course of this episode.
* MutilationConga: Dodd is repeatedly tasered, stabbed twice in the chest, stabbed through the foot, hit so hard over the neck with a firepiece tool that he's apparently crippled, all before being shot in the head by Hanzee.
* PreviouslyOn: Contains another "Erstwhile on Fargo" segment due to being a partial LowerDeckEpisode of "Did You Do This? No, You Did It!"
* WhamEpisode: Dodd is killed and Hanzee is revealed to be the true BigBad of the series. Also the Blumquists are both finally caught by Hank and Lou.
