* ChekhovsGun: Both the kids' initial failed attempts to reach the Pacific Northwest come back to play later.
** The zephyr, which kept going after they were thrown out of it, flies over the volcano as the protagonists are about to be thrown in. While they are unable to board it, Darkwing puncturing the balloon with his GrapplingGun manages to slow their fall.
** Gosalyn and Honker's first attempt was setting the Thunderquack on auto-pilot to reach the Pacific Northwest, but they accidentally eject themselves when it takes off. Later on when they are fleeing the Bigfoots, Honker realizes they are right about where the auto-pilot coordinates would've landed the Thunderquack, and they are able to use it as a getaway vehicle.
