* GreenEyedMonster: Sam's attraction to Gregor makes Danny (and possibly Tucker) jealous.

** When they steal Skulker's armor, the Guys In White also get the [=PDA=] he stole from Tucker, which leads them to Tucker and Mr. Lancer, since they connect the schedule inside with the assignment Danny did for him in "One of a Kind."

* SpaghettiKiss: Danny, watching Sam and Gregor share a plate of spaghetti on their date, says, "If they share a strand of that spaghetti, I'm gonna hurl." They don't.

* VillainOpeningScene: The episode opens with [[EvilVersusEvil the Guys In White chasing Skulker.]]

* {{Hypocrite}}: Sam has one of her biggest such moments in this episode when she flips out at Danny for spying on her date with Gregor. No one ever points out that [[DoubleStandard she spied on every single one of Danny's dates with Valerie]] in "Flirting With Disaster."

* IWarnedYou: Tucker says this to Danny when Sam learns he had been spying on her and Gregor.

* RightForTheWrongReasons: Danny insisted Gregor must be lying to Sam. It turns out he was right... but Gregor was just lying to impress her, not because he's a government spy.

* MoodWhiplash: Danny goes from sighing over Valerie to burning with jealousy over Sam in literally less than one minute. While it was good of the writers not to ignore or forget his previous romance arc, [[RelationshipWritingFumble such a transition doesn't help make his feelings here seem natural.]]

* GivingThemTheStrip: Skulker ejects himself from his suit to escape the Guys In White. The suit and the data it contains are all they wanted in the first place.

* RelationshipWritingFumble[=/=]ShipTease: For an episode supposedly devoted to Danny's feelings for Sam, Tucker has some very interesting scenes. For example, after Danny tells him he saw Sam and Gregor kiss, a dismayed Tucker asks him, "Whoah, hold up -- Gregor kissed Sam?" Then, even though he's spent the whole episode telling Danny he shouldn't spy on them, Tucker immediately volunteers to take over the job. And unlike Danny, who stayed out of sight and let Sam enjoy her date no matter what they did, Tucker inserts himself between Sam and Gregor, acting as loud and obnoxious as possible, ruining their time together. At the end, when Sam claims no boy could ever really like her, Tucker insists, "That's not true!" before Danny does. This left many fans raising an eyebrow over whether or not Tucker's attracted to Sam, too, but [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot nothing ever came of it.]]

** He claims that in Hungary, people where their berets backwards. Tucker is later seen tripping and knocking into things, suggesting that may have been a cruel lie and that he's not as nice as he presents himself.

** When Gregor meets the group, he takes notice of Sam's hands smelling like tofu soy melt before claiming to be an ultra-recyclo vegetarian. Hinting he only said that specifically for her.
** He claims that in Hungary, people where their berets backwards. Tucker is later seen tripping and knocking into things, suggesting that may have been a cruel lie.

* DumbassHasAPoint: In context, it's understandable the Guys In White concluded the Ghost Boy must be the white haired boy always seen with Tucker Foley and Sam Manson (it's sheer luck for Danny that, for the time being, [[spoiler:that happens to be Gregor]]). It's also easy to see how Danny concluded Gregor must be working for them.

* {{Fauxreigner}}: [[spoiler:"Gregor" is actually a kid from Michigan named Elliott who made up the name, accent, and background to impress Sam.]]

* RightForTheWrongReasons: Danny insisted Gregor must be lying to Sam. [[spoiler:It turns out he was right... but Gregor was just lying to impress her, not because he's a government spy.]]

* SecretChaser: The Guys In White are searching for Danny Phantom's human alter ego. They eventually conclude it's [[spoiler:Gregor.]]
