* BeingGoodSucks: Despite Cain's actions being wrong (which even he acknowledges as tactically unsound). Many of the ''Galactica'' crew, including Adama and Tigh feel badly after he's been stripped of command.

The team boards a shuttle, Cassiopeia directs it to land on the ''Pegasus'' so she can help Bojay. Cain leads the ''Pegasus'' directly into a massive number of Cylon fighters, in the ensuing fight the battlestar suffers heavy damage but survives. Sheba is wounded in the battle, and is taken to the ship's medical center. At this point both Apollo and Adama learn that Cain's plan was never to break off; his plan is to head straight for the three Cylon basestars and attack them head on in order to keep them away from the ''Galactica'' and the fleet.

* UndyingLoyalty: Cain's crew almost take this to the extreme, despite his telling them that Adama was correct and he was wrong. They almost come to blows with Apollo's team, but are stopped by a Cylon attack before things get out of hand.

Apollo and Starbuck lead an escort of vipers to ensure the shuttles reach the ''Galactica'', but after a short time they turn command over to Boomer and fly back to try and help the ''Pegasus''. Baltar orders his basestar to fall back and allow the other two to fight off the ''Pegasus'' while he escapes. Apollo and Starbuck attack and cripple the two basestars' defensive laser cannons; Cain has the ''Pegasus'' fly between the two enemy ships and destroys them with the ''Pegasus''' missiles. Unfortunately, the massive explosions prevent Starbuck and Apollo from discovering whether or not the ''Pegasus'' survived the battle. They return to the ''Galactica'', where they tell the recovering Sheba that her father probably headed into deep space in order to keep them away from the ''Galactica'' and the fleet.

Baltar is stunned by the sudden appearance of another surviving battlestar and orders his forces to retreat. Later Cain and Adama develop a plan to destroy the Cylon forces at Gomorray. Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer, Sheba, Bojay and Cassiopeia parachute down to the planet's surface. Bojay is injured by a Cylon, and Cassiopeia does what she can for him, earning Sheba's respect. The Cylon control center is destroyed, and vipers from the two battlestars attack Gomorray. Fuel tankers land and begin taking on tylium.

* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Once Baltar learns the commander of the Pegasus is Cain, he wets his pants and retreats.
* [[NeverFoundTheBody Never Found the Ship]]: The Pegasus is missing after the battle with Baltar's fleet. Most everyone assumes Cain and his crew are still alive heading off into deep space.
