* AnAesop: ''Lies are sometimes needed to aid the truth.'' [[TitleDrop Sonoi uses the moon as a metaphor]] to explain this to Taro, saying how its light isn't its own but actually reflecting the sun's light instead, yet in doing so it allows people to lay their eyes on it. Taro also learns of Kilala's motives as a CompulsiveLiar and witnesses multiple occasions of her lies becoming the truth because [[ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve she worked for them hard enough]], ultimately concluding that the relationship between truth and lies is much more complex that he had thought.

** Taro's inability to lie puts him into serious trouble with his teammates and coworkers. Despite his good intentions, he quietly realizes that sometimes lying is needed, which goes against everything he believes about lies and truth. As a result, he has a crisis over this during the episode.
** The team combining into Don [=OniTaijin=] leads to a lot of confusion and shock from all of them, as they naturally have ''no idea'' what they're doing.

** Taro makes up to his colleague Kiriyama by sending him to meet his mother right before she leaves, and giftd him an entire packet of melon crackers to present to her as well. Kiriyama gratefully thanks Taro and asks him to come back to work, knowing he means well.

** His co-workers call him out on ratting out Kiriyama to the boss for taking all the melon crackers. As punishment Kiriyama is forced to clean the entire office for a week and is unable to visit his mother. They even tell Taro to not come to work tomorrow or else they will quit.

* ContrivedCoincidence: A famous idol named Karin just so happened came by ''Donbura'', with Kaito revealing that she too had also previously worked part-time there. * CompulsiveLiar: Kilala claims she only became one to make her grandfather happy, though she's not too happy about after her lies are revealed.

** This is starting to be played for drama here, as instead of his usual gag of just being blunt and pissing people off Taro ruins Tsubasa's attempt to treat them and forces him back on the run when he tells the police chasing him the truth that he was there. Taro has a crisis over this as he realizes that the right thing to do would be to cover for Tsubasa since he's falsely accused which goes against everything he believes about lies and truth.
* CryingWolf: Downplayed. Kirara faked being attacked by Uchuu-ki at first, so when she's attacked for real later in the episode Shinichi and the others aren't as receptive. Thankfully, Taro realizes she actually is in danger.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: PlayedForLaughs. Kaito gets briefly disturbed when Haruka breaks the serving dish out of annoyance. When he asks why, she only calls him off, which throws him off even more.
