* ScoldedByAStranger: When an old man discovers Aang is the Avatar, he scolds Aang for vanishing when the world needed him, accusing him of turning his back on purpose. This causes Aang to run off and Katara to run after him, prompting Aang to reveal to Katara that he did run away -- the pressures of being the Avatar got to be too much, so he flew off on Appa, only to get stuck in a bad storm that triggered the Avatar state, freezing him in ice for a hundred years. Katara absolves him, knowing he never meant for things to happen as they did and that if he hadn't run away he might have been killed with all the other airbenders during Sozin's Comet. Aang is able to forgive himself, but spends the rest of the series making up for his absence.
