Seasons 5-10 slightly deviate from the spy genre parody. Season 5 centers on being drug runners since their spy agency was never legal to begin with, season 6 sees them as contract workers for the CIA (which coincides with the writers doing away with their agency being called ISIS due to news of a terrorist organization with that same name), Season 7 has them as Private Investigators after being blacklisted. Season 8 (the start of Archer's coma fantasy called ''Archer: Dreamland'') is a 1940s noir mystery, season 9 (''Danger Island'') is a pre-WWII pulp island adventure, and season 10 (the end of Archer's coma fantasy called ''Archer: 1999'') is a sci-fi space adventure.
